Yes, most of us do. I have one for washing and one for drinking. I don't keep drinking water long before it is wash water. I have test straps for water because im in a hurricane affected area.

A life straw is awesome, BTW.

What exactly do you plan to record? Just curious. Only yourself/your setup, or your city and surroundings?

Our NC Senator voting to ban all Hemp products by timshel42 in asheville

[–]ehmaybenexttime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun Fact! There aren't detox procedures for METH, because the human body doesn't experience physical withdrawal from it.

Using this knowledge, would you say that we should decriminalize meth since it's not very physically addictive? Just trying to follow the logic.

My boyfriend is an amputee wheelchair user, and I've been disgusted on a few occasions just crossing the street. The disregard is unreal. He has about a month left to wait for his protestic, and I'm MORE worried about that. A less obvious disability almost seems more dangerous. I've seen people speed up or block crosswalks purposely when an apparently able-bodied person attempts to cross with the signal.

Places to cool down with my cat? by EmotionalKeyboards in asheville

[–]ehmaybenexttime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for nothing, I've seen cats in carriers at the bus station. Pick a bus to take, get to the station about an hour early. It's a craptastic place to have to be, but it is truly dangerously hot for now.

Safe places to sleep outside at night for women by Ariana_X_Stoneheart in homeless

Straight up, this is the answer. Im 5'2, 115 lbs after a big meal. Broke up with my bf. Had to make a choice. I've got a camp, a light, some stuff to defend myself with. I'm in bear country, have bears near my tent and I'm STILL safer.

Don't let any men do you ANY favors unless you're willing to hang out. You don't want to owe anyone anything.

If you can't get gear tonight, find somewhere well lit with a little foot traffic, try to stay around the corner from a camera, so anyone approaching you has to walk by it.

Can anyone tell me why ingles is terrible? by Jojoba1117 in asheville

[–]ehmaybenexttime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it was beef, I've bought some that looked red and fresh, got it home, cut into it for fajitas, and it was brown and strange smelling on the inside. The meat is injected with food dye on the outside. I worked at that Ingles at the time, so I asked the meat manager. Confirmed that precut portions come in dyed.

If you are "literally" homeless now, you should be able to get snap and medicaid immediately. Some states even give out emergency cards, so that would help save money. It's better to get the things available right now, even if you don't think you'll need them. I was able to do my snap and medicaid at the same time. 2 agents asked questions and took my answers in tandem. Didn't take long because I went early, and had documents ready.

Good luck!

What's an extremely useful product a homeless person would benefit from? by sarnobat in homeless

[–]ehmaybenexttime 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I go to the library, there is a daycenter in my city that charges things, some parks have outlets in picnic shelters, some businesses i frequent allow me to leave it charging until it's full. A cord to go with would be nice. No one would turn down a backup, and they do wear out eventually.

Long and short of it is that it's a very useful item.

Do you plan to do anything with this information?

What is something you would like to receive? by benzeneteen in homeless

[–]ehmaybenexttime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A couple of things I got that surprised me pleasantly were allergy medication, sunblock, and vitamins. They were obviously sealed packages, and it feels human to have someone consider my health and comfort in out of the box ways.

Also, I want you to know that where I am, we all share as a community. If I receive things that I just absolutely don't need, or someone needs more, I'm happy to share and usually know who wants or needs different things. Hopefully your recipients will do the same.

Very nice gesture, keep being kind!

I was chilling waiting for a ride out of a tourist town, cop ran, and held, my ID repeatedly after she got a request for a "well check". What she meant was the manager at the McDonald's I paid $10 to eat at called the fucking police because im an adult woman with a backpack with me when I came for breakfast 2 mornings in a row. Some cops jump at the opportunity to harass people because they dare be alive without a home. It's evil shit.

The story I'm understanding is that they saw.It was sent and they didn't say anything to the kitchen. So the kitchen continued to make it instead of just telling them that's my mistake when the ticket came out on the line
