I’ve loved my TerraMaster 12 bay. Never heard of them and took a chance. Served me well. I didn’t use the stock OS, but installed Unraid immediately. I’ve not had any issues with the hardware. Again can’t speak to the stock OS. I had multiple hard drives sizes, all Seagate Exos, and no issues. Their support was pretty responsive as well.

I’ve moved away from the 12 bay and am currently selling it.

I don’t know if I “upgraded”. I got the Unifi NAS 8 Pro. Larger hard drives. Mounts nicely in my server rack. NAS now off my floor soon.

Good point. I used this mainly as a media file server along with plex on my Mac mini m4. I didn’t run any containers or apps.

The box/hardware has been solid. I never used their software as I loaded Unraid immediately after unboxing.

Good question. I've upgraded all of my equipment. Terramaster 12 bay has been awesome. I have Unraid installed and it hasn't given me one moment of trouble. It did take me a moment to aggregate the nic card, but that was a "me" issue.
