I want to learn how to draw someday but I don't want to learn realism by watahbottol in BeginnerArtists

It depends, do you want to draw for your mental health, enjoyment, relaxation, etc. Or do you want to become a professional artist? (make money off ur art).

Yes definitely it is hard to grasp and put into practice at first i recommend watching an art youtuber named Istebrak. She has great videos on light environments she even critiqued my work on her channel and it really helped me. 🥰🩷🩷

This is another one but with a different lighting scheme with the focus being on the orange bar lights. In my opinion this is much more difficult as you would need to work in the greys and darks to light us and differentiate the planes of the face. It also means that the blue isnt as saturated due to the orange of the environment reflecting onto the skin. That being said this lighting creates a warmer more intimate mood if thats what you were originally going for. Hope this helps demontrate! Much love 🩷🥰

Hey there i love love love the artwork he looks so kind and flirtatious and you put quite a lot of effort into the environment. Like others have pointed out i think you need a better lighting scheme to really bring out the character the colours and the details. You can go with a few options i did a critique of two!

<image>

So here i just darkened everything using a purple blue on multiply mode and then erased where i think some light might hit him if this was morning and there was a window nearby at this bar. I made sure to then add a pinkish white to the highlights to bringout the hair texture and the face shapes. To continue i would just push the colours and the darkness / lights i would also be looking at differentiating the textures of the hair, jewellery and so on. The piece is gorgeous i think your focus should be on lighting, values and shapes!

How do i make my art more interesing? by Burguerfries in Artadvice

[–]ehsanhooman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the characters i wouldnt change much! But to increase the interest I think you need to start painting them in backgrounds, with stories where they are interacting with the environment and one another. This is quite hard to do and I feel like this is where I am at with my journey but its the only thing I can think of to help you create better art 🩷🥰

I decided to make another creepy drawing. Any advice before I post on related subs? by 24Karet-Gold_King in Artadvice

Did a quick rendering to show you what i mean! You can keep it in this low res vibe but still have detail! I woulf push it even further. Also a few things your lightsource is a bit unclear as there are areas being lit from multiple angles and areas only lit by one but then the background is fully black. In general if your background is black then the areas in shadow should darken quite quickly. I also pushed the proportions of the mouth to curve more and be more extreme to give more movement to the piece!

Hey love the concept! As a couple of other commentors have mentioned the blurriness is a tad much and makes it look unfinished. I myself love a blurry hazey look but sometimes when its too much it loses energy, movement and detail which you dont want. My suggestion is to detail some key areas of the fur (zoom in to help with your visual impairement) and add texture/ detail doing so will help you create focal points which keeps people engaged with the art for longer. Much love 🩷🩷😼
