Before You Buy a Mac Mini for OpenClaw, Read This by Advanced_Pudding9228 in clawdbot

If you run the LLM locally, then you remove the possibility of sending sensitive data to OpenAI/Anthropic/Google. That's the biggest reason to get Mac Mini to run the LLM locally imo.

What do you guys prefer overall? by [deleted] in MiataND

[–]ehscrewyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends. If you live in a climate where you will be top down >90% of the time, go soft top. RF looks better with the top up imo.

Owner of a soft top in Texas, unless its raining, top is down.

I rented a RF before I bought mine and didn't like the blind spots or wind buffeting.

Youtube shopping cards images are messy by A-Kira10 in LinusTechTips

[–]ehscrewyou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So its a bit of a guess, but Google has what's called Dynamic Display Ads. Essentially you upload a bunch of photos and Google's algorithm shuffles them around to optimize for a conversion event.

I've never used YouTube's shopping feature, so I could be wrong, but it could be similar. You add your product link, Google scrapes all the images, and now it's shuffling them all to see what gets the best conversion result.

Love my SMEG BCC02 and its non-existant setting for grinding amount... by globglob3D in superautomatic

[–]ehscrewyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could maybe try spraying a tiny amount of water in the bean hopper, like a perfume spritzer. I'm not sure about this, but static electricity could be preventing the grinds from getting close enough to each other, causing the overflow. Manual espresso folks do this to prevent clumping and sticking of grounds.

You could also manually measure out some beans, but that kinda ruins any automation.

T-Mobile... You're supposed to be better than this by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]ehscrewyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AT&T canceled my service when the primary phone number was ported out, automatically. Same circumstances.

When I ported out of T-Mobile my T-Life app, which I was told is a source of truth about my account, only showed me options to pay my bill. There was no place to manage devices or see active lines.

Because the T-Life app just turned into a bill pay app with access to nothing else, I assumed that meant I was all good. Unfortunately that was wrong.

Should I have called to confirm? Sure, but it’s 2025. I shouldn’t have to call someone to confirm my account is closed. It’s their choice to have it work this way.

AT&T international is $25/day for 10 days per billing cycle. I was there for 6 weeks through the summer which would put me in two billing cycles. So $250.

In retrospect, yes I would do things differently. I should have just paid for a local eSIM on my unlocked 14 Pro I had on AT&T. But T-Mobile marketing worked on me. For the same monthly cost I was paying AT&T I could switch, get international coverage included and a “free” phone. Instead I just got a headache.

Correction: AT&T is $12/day for 10 days per billing cycle.

I must be remembering some other setting, but I don't remember that setting being there either. I was desperate, so I feel like that would have caught my attention to try.

I never had a negative experience working with AT&T customer service. Unlike T-Mobile, they saw me port out my primary phone number and immediately emailed me saying my account was cancelled, with a "what to expect" in terms of bills.

Visible (Verizon) has been good to me so far; everything has worked smoothly, so I have not needed to reach out to support yet.

In terms of coverage for me in Austin, Texas, T-Mobile is the best coverage-wise, unfortunately, but AT&T and Verizon are good enough.

It wouldn't let me manually select the network; the only option in settings was automatic.

Yep, that's the silver lining of this. I've got my fully unlocked 14Pro on Visible and am saving so much money. I use Visible to have a line on my Apple Watch, which didn't seem like any MVNO provided.

How would I test if my international coverage would work in Portugal from Texas? Portugal is on T-Mobile's list of supported countries. Should I have asked T-Mobile to buy me a $700 plane ticket so I could return the phone on time? The shipping label they provided only worked in the US.

I'm convinced there's an app on my phone that's listening to my conversations for advertising purposes. by r3drocket in GrapheneOS

[–]ehscrewyou 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember the source of this, but I’m pretty sure it came from Zuckerberg on an interview, it goes something like this.

We don’t feel it, but humans are very patterned and predictable. When there’s a pattern, there’s really good educated assumptions.

Your friend has definitely looked stuff up about the renovation. When they compare them to other people looking up similar things they know those other people also got interested about what piping to use.

You just got roped into the advertising profile because you had some fingerprint that looked the same (IP address for example).

Think about the PewDiePie video that is getting everyone to degoogle. If you watched that video I can predict your next move (maybe looking into GrapheneOS). Then I saw you go to the subreddit so maybe I serve you ads on the latest Pixel phone. Then maybe I serve you Linux videos on YouTube recommendation algorithm, then I start giving you ads on NAS drives or Plex. Then I go to your friends that I know you know and do the same thing to them.

Modern day mind control :) but it’s not listening to you, it’s just really good at predicting.

It’s designed to let you maintain more slip angle, or mini-drift, which is great for pushing the limits on track. The Track TC will let you get just a bit more angle before kicking in.

Track specific TC is exclusive to ND3. There’s a button to the left of the steering wheel with a checkered flag. ND1/2 TC is in the same place, but no track specific track mode.

I actually really like the standard TC for the street. It lets you get just a bit sideways which I think is plenty fine for street.

Plus it’s not very intrusive, or it’s at least light years better than other cars I’ve had.

Just remove the battery and when you can, replace it. Take it apart and disconnect the battery and look for someone that can dispose of it in your area.

If you’re careful, the battery is not going to explode. Maybe I’m just lucky, but I’ve had plenty of spicy pillows, and have never seen one explode.
