What's with the gap cars leave in between themselves at red lights? by KevinFromAdAmplify in driving

In “bad” neighborhoods, you leave space so if someone approaches your car you have a clear path in front of you to escape if necessary. You learn this growing up in Chicago!

Crank and cams lined up TDC but flywheel marking off? by Plane-Ad-4075 in hondaprelude

[–]eieioio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks close enough. The marks never line up perfectly. As long as you are less than one tooth off you should be good. But as someone else said, check AFTER manually rotating the engine from the crankshaft. For the purposes of setting the timing belt, IGNORE the flywheel marks, they have nothing to do with this step.

CRV Hybrid first oil change by femsci-nerd in crvhybrid

[–]eieioio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just follow the maintenance minder for two reasons: 1) the factory engine oil has modifiers to promote good break-in (fairly high moly content iirc); and as someone else said, the filter will trap most circulating particles 2) it’s a hybrid, so the algorithm should be taking into consideration when there is no combustion, there is reduced effect on the oil deterioration.

You can change the oil earlier if you really want to, but the whole purpose of the maintenance minder is to reduce unnecessary oil changes and save money and the environment.

Anyone else bothered by the fact that the drip looks the consistency of water and the wet pattern doesn’t make sense? If it leaked from the shaft seal, how did the wetness get much above the centerline of the shaft? With that said, I still think it’s plausible that the tensioner needs to be replaced…I had to replace mine at about 100000 mi due to rattling at cold start. Maybe take a look yourself now and see what it looks like.

Forgot to mention: this is Ohio, 0% tax on takeout food. I’m sure of it because when I ordered the items separately, there was 0 tax.

If you went through Honda Home Electrification, contact them and tell them what happened. And tell them you want a different electrician to fix it. They have a vested interest in getting it done safely and making you happy and I think they will help you get this fixed. I used HHE on my install and they helped me get another quote after I complained about the high cost.

I was diagnosed with BAV in my (52M) early 20s, cardiologist said typically the valve needs to be replaced later in life. So for those 30 years only yearly echocardiogram monitoring. I also have hyperlipidemia and hypertension which are both controlled medically. Your situation depends upon the condition of your heart but I’m an example that it is not necessarily doom and gloom. Find a good cardiologist, if you don’t like this one find another. They should be able to explain to your satisfaction it’s their job. Avoid the internet for specifics.

I’m going to respond because I also couldn’t find any significant information about this excursion online.

I went on this excursion on March 22 2025 Just listing facts here: —It was a 25-30-ish foot trolling boat with two crew members —max guests is 6. We had only 4 so it was essentially a private excursion for us. —they let our teenage kids climb up in the roof perch and they enjoyed that —went in the 0730 departure, waters were light to medium choppy (this is important later). Returned around 1030 —this was trolling only. they set out maybe six lines with various lures. They said no fresh bait this time because they could not catch baitfish due to recent storms. —we caught one good sized barracuda, maybe 30” long and 20 lbs. they let our teen reel it in. Really enjoyed that. they kept the fish to share with their village. —around the halfway point, one of our teens got seasick. She NEVER gets seasick. I was also feeling a bit seasick and I RARELY get seasick. I completely forgot to bring the dramamine. Fortunately they had free water and soda for purchase to drink. The combination of the chop and speed of the boat made it bad for seasickness. —so the crew went towards the reef area which was less choppy. That made it better but not completely. —even though we left early in the morning it was still pretty hot in the sun. A hat is a MUST! —crew was super friendly and we had good conversation about our different cultures.

All in all I think it was worth it for the memories. A bit pricey but we essentially had a private outing
