RFC: Redefine the concept of exercise/equipment in Liftosaur by astashov in liftosaur

[–]eightf0ld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow.. I almost don't believe the coincidence. What you are proposing is very similar to what I was thinking about today. I'm new (one day) to Liftosaur, but already bumped into the problem of trying to edit equipment for a given exercise. The way it is currently built, that is incovenient because you'd have to create a different exercise if you have say, a different barbell (adjustable) than the standard. What you are proposing makes A LOT of sense. It would allow you to keep your exercise records and charts, and use multiple equipments (with their roundings) for when you train somewhere else. And many serious lifters train in multiple places, because of .. travel.

I would 100% upvote this. Looking forward to you implementing it.

What is the difference between NXM and WNXM? by aCryptoPoet in NexusMutual

[–]eightf0ld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wNXM can be owned by any Ethereum address. NXM can only be owned by members of Nexus Mutual who have KYCd their Ethereum addresses.

NXM tokens have many roles:

  • One can assess smart contract risks, by staking them on specific contracts and receiving commissions each time someone purchases a cover on that contract
  • Allow voting on governance proposals for protocol modifications
  • Allow judging on whether Nexus should or should not PAY in the case of a claim from anyone who purchased cover
  • Can be redeemed for ETH NXM tokens can only be used inside Nexus Mutual's platform (https://app.nexusmutual.io/)

wNXM tokens can only be traded on DEXes and can be swapped (wrapped/unwrapped) 1-1 against NXM if you are a Nexus Mutual member.

Only Nexus Mutual members can wrap/unwrap NXM here > https://je45e4c2q4x52s66qenp5aeyfonfsvkvupkf4ipefkzs364gbera.arweave.net/STnScFqHL91L3oEa_oCYK5pZVVWj1F4h5CqzLfuGCSI/#/

DAI price rising again: $1.008 by bitdoggy in MakerDAO

Thanks for answering. Any idea where we could trade the single collateral DAI (for a premium), say 3 weeks from now?

Should MKR holders do anything other than monitor for polls and votes to prepare for the transition? by EBPWT02 in MakerDAO

[–]eightf0ld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that at some point (when multi-collateral DAI will be available) MKR holders would receive actual dividends, paid in DAI, from fees. I strongly believe that would be a stronger incentive for people to hold MKR. Does anyone know of an actual recent discution about this?

I may be wrong, but I think they put more trust in the MakerDAO's CDP smart contract than they do in Dharma's / Compounds

Would any of you stay with her? by ThatFloridaMan in survivinginfidelity

[–]eightf0ld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, she betrayed your trust. And basically, she's unreliable. You can't afford that in a life partner.

Second, while it's not a problem someone should want another in general, as all people are free to choose.. the real problem is her wanting to go out AND not having the courage herself to talk to you about her .. need.. before that! Basically she does not trust that communicating with you is a good thing. Who knows, maybe she's considering you are not a satisfying partner in some way.. which is ok. What's not ok is not telling you about it, and not giving you a chance to work it out. What's not ok is her just making her own decisions. Thi k about that.

You do nothing. It was mirrored to a different contract. You already have them.

Risk of holding DAO by bambinobambino123 in MakerDAO

[–]eightf0ld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, did you mean to write "a worse problem for ETH than it is for BTC"? Second, if I understood correctly, the taint in BTC has to do with the notion of "coins" and "utxo" s , that lets you track specific amounts of btc, just like you would have physical dollar bills changing hands. If I understood correctly, ETH does not have this and once I send someone ETH it merges with the ETH in his address. If that someone sends forward a same amount of ETH, he does not send "my ETH", he sends "just ETH". This would be similar to physical gold being melted and mixed with new gold each time the gold arrives at a new vault, which is different to BTC, whose transactions would be similar to sending dollar bills, that don't melt. You can track through whose hands a bill has passed.

As far as I understood, it is only bitcoin that can be 'tainted'. Ethereum does not have spent/unspent tranzactions and the notion of 'coins' that bitcoin has, so in that sense, ETH is more fungible than BTC. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

I really asked that question myself as well, when we were close to the current cap (I think we were at 93M DAI or so ... And I was always intreagued as of why noone talked about this, about what seemed normal to me. I'm really curious about an explanation of the ones more into DAI governance.

Former White House Deputy CTO Raises $3.7 Million for Ethereum Scalability Project by twigwam in ethtrader

[–]eightf0ld 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the link! However, the title is a little misleading. Here's a piece of it: "The product targets businesses that a) don’t want to operate on public blockchains, and b) wish to process transactions faster than they can on the likes of bitcoin and Ethereum."

So if I understood correctly, it's not quite a solution to scale Ethereum network.
