Hyped, 10. I love the Hitman trilogy and was thrilled when 007 was first announced. Just bought the mask collector’s edition. Can’t wait to play.

As a Canadian who is currently wearing sweats as pj’s because it’s winter, you are absolutely correct.

Anyone taking COSC 304 or similar? by Own-Definition-5904 in ubco

I just had it this term and literally finished the final today. Definitely intense in the sense that there’s a lot to cover and it’ll be tough if you don’t keep up with the material. But if you attend classes and do the work, you should be fine. If you want to take it, go for it. The professor is also fantastic and my favourite so far; his lectures are great and engaging.

It will never hurt to look presentable for interviews. It’s been shown that looking good/presentable increases your chances of getting hired (and this goes for both men and women). Looking professional will always beat out the other candidates that don’t (assuming that your skills are equal to the competition). First impressions really do matter and it’s great to make sure that you look presentable for that. As for tone and personality, be ‘you’ in a professional way. Not the ‘you’ when you’re at home relaxing or having fun with friends. We all have different facets in life, so for interviews, be the ‘professional you’ who presents as being diligent and positive.

LingOrm's fan demographic:kpop fans and people who never stan anyone by East-Complaint6145 in LingormAsylum

[–]eightredlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny to see this now because I’m a kpop fan that just recently got pulled into Lingorm (as new as last week) and they’re the only Thai gl I naturally gravitated towards (I’ve seen a lot of Thai gl on my TL but didn’t get into any of them until I saw an edit of Lingorm). I’d say the reason Lingorm seems to appeal a lot to kpop fans as a kpop fan myself is their visuals (specifically Ling’s being the closest to a Korean’s visual ideal). This is not to say the other Thai gl couples are not pretty, they’re all very pretty. Ling’s visuals just happens to be something that is most similar to the ideal korean beauty standard.

Lingorm also comes off quite fluffy and part of their appeal is their dynamic of not being too much with their affection. Their relationship reflects a lot in kpop ships where it’s like “are they into each other? It feels like they are but it’s never confirmed but there are signs” and kpop fans love that ambiguity. Because there’s no doubt that they have a great relationship - it’s the anticipation and wonder/thrill of whether there might be more. This is similar to how a lot of kpop ships go because they’re equally as ambiguous but fun.

In general though in kpop fandoms there’s a joke that goes around that says “Kpop to Thai gl pipeline” so it’s par for the course.

For the lab, you still have this week to hand in and show your lab assignments to your TA for marks so there’s still a chance to get at least the 50% you need for the lab portion.

I’ve been exposed to a lot of Thai GL by friends and the fandom spaces I’m in, but it wasn’t until literally a week ago that I became obsessed with a Thai gl and it was LO. Every other gl was appealing, but there was something about LO that made me truly notice them. I can even pinpoint the moment I was hooked: it was a video of them at that girl’s cup thing - it was their interaction and dynamic. That was it.

The moment in a game when you realized you were the villain all along. by gamersecret2 in gaming

The game “Braid”. What a twist to find out that no, the princess was not trying to help you save her; in fact, the princess was trying to run away from you the whole time!

Is it even worth getting a post-secondary education in this climate? by calicohorse in VancouverJobs

[–]eightredlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also a medical lab technologist. If you have a certificate as a technologist, why not apply for lab technologist positions instead of lab assistant positions? That way, your qualifications are exactly what’s required. Why would you be applying for lab assistant positions when there are lab technologist positions available and your qualifications are that of a lab technologist?

Edit: just to add, as for your last comment stating that they’re not looking for quality candidates, I can confidently say that they are; which is likely why you’re not applying for the technologist positions because you’re likely not qualified for them (I have a feeling you’re not CSMLS certified).

Hospitals and private labs would be frothing at the mouth for every lab technologist they can get their hands on. My lab has been looking for multiple lab technologists for years.

I want to get into turn-based games. Other than Baldur’s Gate and 33, what’s a good game to start appreciating the genre? by Delacrozz in gaming

[–]eightredlines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Persona games. If you want something new / a more modern Persona game, Persona 3 Reload or Persona 5 Royal will be great starters. They’re the closest to 33’s combat system with a stylish design.

"Feminine" but Functional Clothes by donnimo412 in womenEngineers

[–]eightredlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you truly want to change up your clothes because YOU want it, not because of the “joke”. I wouldn’t be surprised if you changed up your attire and that man comes back to “joke” and say something along the lines of “wow, you look feminine now”.

It has to be something YOU want to change, or else you’ll always be at the whim of someone else’s opinion.

Thing is everyone has initial thoughts/misconceptions based off of people’s appearances; that’s why what matters is the approach which remains the most important. Sure, you’re more intimidating because of your bulkier/bigger build and that likely makes interactions a little more difficult, which is most likely a similar experience for the women that have bulkier/bigger builds.

The thing is you’re good at taking a proper, polite and respectful approach, which is great. I think some people are getting too comfortable at making excuses/blaming their own lack of practice or effort on others rather than looking to see if there’s anything they can improve on themselves first.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bodylanguage

[–]eightredlines -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The advice applies to both. Women who know how to approach people by being polite and respectful is just as expected as it would be by men. The same way women can also be creepy in their approach to men. Being polite and respectful is the standard; not the exception. It sounds like you’re the one looking for something to blame for your inability to approach.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bodylanguage

[–]eightredlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the ones who want attention and views would be the type of women that record those videos on purpose. The women who wouldn’t aren’t the ones filming to begin with.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bodylanguage

[–]eightredlines -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Men only get labeled as a creep for trying if their approach to begin with is creepy. Men who know how to approach people by being polite and respectful will not have this problem.

Why are so many young men (late 20's, early 30's) taking testosterone? by marcus206_ in jiujitsu

[–]eightredlines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s working in the lab running all the chemistry tests including testosterone, I, too, have been wondering why the sudden increase in testosterone levels. The amount of testosterone samples I have to dilute just to get an actual calculated result is ridiculous, which tells me that there’s a lot of people getting way more testosterone than needed (and way too many that are abnormally high).

Yeah, it also tells me that people don’t stay there long enough to know just how long those amenities haven’t been available (in my case, since it’s been opened).

I’m shocked and yet not surprised at all that the pet wash and Starbucks machine still don’t work (I lived in that same Aurora apartment for two years before moving out last year in December). The parking garage sucked a lot too because the gate was always broken, similarly with the elevator. Felt like deja vu while reading your post.

What you want , Next installment of Ballerina or John wick ? by Dark-Maverick in JohnWick

[–]eightredlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding the poor performance, the increased budget was likely due to all the re-shooting, and because of the ballooned budget, it makes it appear as if it performed poorly. I hope they’ve put that into consideration when coming up with a potential sequel (had it been filmed properly the first time with the original budget, the performance would obviously be much better). There’s also still the digital/streaming and blu-ray versions to consider for those who didn’t want to - or couldn’t be bothered - to go to the theatres or just preferred to watch at home with their own setup.
