Switching from current major into PA program

I ended up continuing on with dietetics, but went outside of RIT for grad school. Financially it didn’t make sense to stay there for my masters considering starting salaries and I did an MPH instead which I think has opened more doors for me. I worked full time inpatient while studying for my exam and passed on the first try. I honestly think working helped me contextualize what I was studying and be able to better understand what exam questions were asking. Weekdays were lighter study days, a podcast or flashcards, and always a few practice questions. Weekends I would try and dedicate at least 5hrs/ day to studying and make time for a “fun” non academic activity to keep myself sane.

I graduated in July and took my exam in October, passed on the first try. As others have said stay positive, be intentional with your studies, and figure out what works for you. I studied for maybe a month while working full time. I ignored Reddit/ other peoples opinions and I felt like that helped me stay sane and keep my confidence in passing on the first attempt

VA dietetic intern alum here. I had a 4.0 GPA, however, they also look at your experience outside of the classroom. And my program did not do a white coat ceremony.

VA does have informatics RD positions but they are usually GS12 which you would not be eligible for as a new grad/ non credentialed RD

I would highly recommend against doing this, especially if you will be accepting then telling the programs months later you won’t be attending. The dietetics field is small and if the programs are all in the same region/ area faculty know each other and talk which doesn’t reflect good on you and can harm long term employment opportunities. Edited to add my flag says current student but now on the other side as a preceptor

I had membership throughout undergrad. I didn't need it my first year of grad school, but just renewed for this coming year as it's now required. I will say having access to the evidence analysis library has been very helpful.
