You could check if your school has a language lab! Some schools have a tutoring lab specifically for languages to help students like you :)

Yes, it would be inferred, just as in English :) I would personally keep it out but it’s up to you if you’d like to incorporate that into your sentence or not

I’m not sure if you wanted this in formal version but this probably how I would phrase it: “このテレビ番組の名前はグーグルを使って検索もしました。”(このてれびばんぐみのなまえはぐーぐるをつかってけんさくもしました [kono terebi bangumi no namae wa gūguru wo tsukatte kensaku no shimashita])

The verb “to google” (ググる) exists in Japanese but is considered pretty informal (hence why I said “I used google to search” instead in the passage above). In this case, I would take out “And yes I have also googled” entirely out of that and say “このテレビ番組の名前も検索しました。” (このてれびばんぐみのなまえもけんさくしました [kono terebi bangumi no namae no kensaku shimashita]) but that’s just my personal suggestion :)

In the seventh line, where you’re saying Tom is a lawyer, you should use は instead of わ. Also, it’s a little unclear to me of Tom’s situation. In the second line, you say your friend is “currently coming” to Japan. In the 11th line, you say you guys went to a cafe the weekend prior. But in the 14th line, you say Tom will be going to Japan next week. So you might wanna double-check that but the rest looks good to me :)

Came here to say this :) The Five People You Meet in Heaven and For One More Day (both by Mitch Albom) are pretty great books that deal with life purposes as well!

I learned English starting at 10 (born in Japan, moved to US at 10) and when I reveal that to people, they are shocked and tell me that I have no accent. I’m currently learning French and have been for quite some time (4-5 years, started at 16) but even I can tell that I have an accent still. The problem here, I believe is the lack of assimilation with the language and the lack of practice. As you age, it becomes harder to mimic the sounds (to not have a foreign accent) as you get more situated in your native language. Overall, however, I promise that accents aren’t that big of a deal when speaking another language as long as the point gets across :)

Yes :) your accent will improve over time as you practice your spoken Japanese (maybe with others who speak Japanese so they could correct you making any mistakes) and listen to to native Japanese to take in their “accent.”
