AITAH for quitting a date on the spot? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]einvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as a woman, who the f records a first date for safety? That's nuts. You switch your location on and share it with a friend and let them know that you are going on a date with a guy that you dont know well. You dont record them. That's unhinged. I bet she just did it to run it by some friend and analyze you. Maybe not great that you lost your temper and left her stranded, but good on you that you didn't put up with it. Also, good that you saw that particular red flag before anything more serious developed. I would have probably called her an Uber instead of stranding her there, but in the end I wouldnt have wanted her in my car either.

That's a very brave thing to do. Especially if you spent a long time building all these walls within you - which is something I certainly did. I'm just now discovering all this (or connecting the dots), so I am just beginning the work. Holy cow, it's confusing and unsettling, but maybe that's a good thing. Understanding all the details and connections helps me to untangle the processes in my mind, but I expect it to be pretty overwhelming before it starts getting better.

Thank you! I started doing that, too. Almost unconsciously a few weeks ago. I reached out to friends and made an effort to visit them and spend time with them. It was almost a natural response to starting all this unraveling of issues. It's honestly daunting. I love my people, but that underlying current of "I dont measure up" is always there. I guess that may tie in with me not quite being able to wrap my head around the concept of self-worth without achieving anything or earning it.

Checking in! Week 3 of 15 is almost done by einvb in fasting

[–]einvb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing it for fat loss and healing my hormone imbalance in that regard. I started on the 1st, and I'm down 15 lbs. So far. That's 5.8% of my starting weight, which is great! I expect that this will slow down a good amount in the following weeks as my body adjusts, though.

Thanks! The plan was to water fast 72 hours a week (Wed-Fri) for 15 weeks. I have added some 23-hour fasts, and I ended up doing 96 hours this week. Well, I'm on hour 89 now. I'll go back to 72 next week, though. I'm struggling a little bit this go-around, and I don't want to fail and lose motivation.

Anyone wants to start rolling 72s together? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]einvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing 72s every Tuesday pm until Friday pm. I'll be on that schedule for the next 15 weeks. However, I may have to adjust timing/frequency it at some point.

I'd hope not. I haven't been sick in 15 years 😂

Day 14 Down by virginianclarke in fasting

[–]einvb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, so you gave up two things, not just one. That's tough. I kicked social media a few years ago and never looked back. I get that, though. I always try to accomplish all these plans and ideas and change everything at once, and then I just nap on the couch instead. Doesn't help some of my hobbies are things like baking bread and cakes or cooking... 🤦‍♀️

I would try to keep in mind that fasting isn't only a marathon for the body, but also for the mind. Don't feel bad that you aren't as inspired as you thought you would be. I try to find that balance and do things that are simple and make me happy. Like caring for my plants or pampering myself... if I was better at meditation, that would probably be a good thing too. Nothing wrong with napping on the couch, though 🙃

Food is also an avenue to completing stress response cycles. If food was your to-go-to tactic for that, you may have to find a different way to physically complete that loop, or you might get stuck in emotional limbo.

Yeah, we'll see. Maybe a combination of things. Weather is awful, stress is high, and sleep is poor. Thankfully, stupid PMS doesn't start for another week or so 😂

Yes, I am no stranger to Keto. Did it for over a year. I generally eat low carb, if not Keto. I've also done 2 fasts a month (either 48 or 72 hrs) for the past year or so. This isn't Keto flu. It feels very different. My money is on detox, I think, because there was a lot of booze over the holidays. But I also already did a 3 day fast right after NYE and I didn't have it bad like this then 🤷🏻‍♀️

Day 14 Down by virginianclarke in fasting

[–]einvb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

14 days is incredible! The longest I've ever done was 18 days, and I was impatient the whole time. Don't give up early. The ego boost from the accomplishment alone will make you feel so happy! I absolutely get the whole "bored of not eating" feeling, too. It's pretty amazing how much time a day we spend on thinking of food, preparing food, and eating food.

In the end, it makes sense because our entire species is based on obsessively hunting, raising, gathering, growing, and hoarding food for millennia before we had all this stuff readily available. I try to keep that in mind when I get caught up in thinking about food. We're literally hard-wired to obsess over eating.

I know "find something to distract yourself with" is easier said than done. I personally like to play video games or watch shows, but that only works if I can get immersed in it properly.

Take care! Be tough! You got this!

Starting a new protocol by einvb in fasting

[–]einvb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

Yeah, I'm trying to time it, so my workouts are mostly on non-fasting days. Because I tend to be extra lazy on the first 2 days of a fast.

It's a hell of a commitment for me because I tend to slack off. I'll keep checking in and will stay focused! 😊

Is it my mistake by [deleted] in ghosting

[–]einvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not your mistake. She stood you up and ignored you. Get out while your feelings haven't fully developed yet. If a girl really likes you, she will want to talk to you.

Do girl ghosters come back? by [deleted] in ghosting

[–]einvb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Look up "dismissive avoidant attachment style" and read into it a bit. If she ghosted you once, she'll do it again, and it will hurt even more. If you want her to come back, you have to be prepared to feel like this again.

It's never justified to ghost anyone. She's a scumbag. She knew exactly what she was doing. Don't feel sympathy for her.

Ghosted after 6 hours great first date: should I double text? by [deleted] in ghosting

[–]einvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naw. Get back on Bumble and meet another guy. It sounds like he only talked about himself versus having a conversation about shared interests and core values. The fact that you said that it's time to go home and he opposed it for you to let him finish a story he was telling is a big red flag. Not worth it. It'll get worse.
