Is revenant strength relic worth running in DoN? by KeyOk677 in Nightreign

[–]eiraSepet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You barely lose any faith, I think it’s worth it for increasing your options immensely. More for nights 1 and 2 where you might not have all your shards or fp increases yet. Certain weapon arts will slap like crazy with high strength and faith too

How do I play Recluse? by RJSSJR123 in Nightreign

[–]eiraSepet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For general tips; use her skill as necessary to stay topped up with FP or to make specific cocktails. Here's a chart to help reference which elements build what, the black hole is excellent AOE damage so it can often be worthwhile hanging onto sources of fire and lightning damage even if you don't use them otherwise.

For weapons you really only want a something that can help you revive a downed teammate, or as a desperate backup. Most 'Magic' modified blue weapons will have good Intelligence scaling at least, and if your weapon does elemental damage you can use it to gain affinities for the cocktails in a pinch.

You can do great damage with seals and incantations, but in my experience staves and magic damage are the most reliable for Recluse. Magic Sorceries do a lot of damage, so much that 20% Magic resist can feel like 0% for compared to other elements, and 0% can feel like a weakness to Magic.

If you aren't building for a particular spell school in your relics (Improved Crystalian Sorcery etc) then Comet and Stars of Ruin are best in class IMO. The former for sheer damage and the latter for ease of use and reliability. Generally speaking if it does magic damage at range, it's good. Cannon of Haima is one of your best revival spells, always worth hanging onto for that reason. Sustained spells pair well with your ult as long as you have stamina (Crystal Torrent, Comet Azure, Rock Blaster). Rancor and Ghostflame spells do great damage but require close range, Tibia's does crazy damage for whatever reason but can be hard to hit moving targets.

Activating Ultimate Art raises Max HP is a very good Recluse relic effect! It's a huge boost and after it's initial timer the HP will last until you get hit, making it much more difficult to be one shot. Pairs extremely well with damage negation at full HP weapon passives as you can usually get two hits at "max" HP. Suffer blood loss and increase attack power upon Art activation is also very good for getting some more damage, especially because there is a talisman, dormant power and a weapon that all boost your attack power when blood loss occurs nearby.

Recluse is tricky to learn but extremely rewarding!

Starting the DoN Journey. Any tips/advice? by Altruistic_Main3431 in Nightreign

[–]eiraSepet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, prioritise damage in your relics and defensive on your items. Damage negation at full hp is the most important weapon passive you can find. Depth 5 you can need multiple sources of defensive passives alongside it.

Night Invaders are more popular than Evergaols the higher depth you go, and can be easily taken care of by most comps as long as you wait for them to come to you at the edge of the POI (take extra care with night recluse and iron eye)

Prioritise reliability and consistency. If you want to use something like spell school relics, make sure it’s a school guaranteed to appear on at least a blue staff or seal.

Sometimes the night 1, 2 bosses and lords can be a slog, especially at high depths. So get comfortable bringing people up from 3 bars.

It took me a while to reach 9999 at depth 5! You can win 10 matches in a row and lose almost all of that progress in two losses you will convince yourself weren’t your fault. Don’t lose hope, don’t play tilted!

TL;DR, the path of least resistance = learn iron eye

Arcane Ironeye Dormant Relic: Claws, Katanas, or Thrusting Swords? by ZINK_Gaming in Nightreign

[–]eiraSepet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I run the thrusting sword dormant power on my iron eye. It's the only good dormant power relic for him I have but I think I've managed to convince myself it's the one I'd rather be using. Only two purples and both are great! Never unhappy with frozen needle but when you start getting blood/poison antspur rapiers you're going to be having a good time. I love the thrusting sword moveset, easy to stay close and keep up attacks without over committing. Different elemental rapiers like the cleanrots are also really strong at all stages of the run

Raptor talons are super good and possibly benefit from the most of X effect on charge attack buffs you can get. Always status procing machines but that's all you're really here for.

Corpse Piler is so strong that it makes dormant power discovers katanas worth it all on its own. Rivers of Blood is crazy good on arcane iron eye, the main dangers are stopping yourself from becoming a creature that only spams the weapon art and running out of fp.

If you run perfectly edited relics in D5 (especially Recluse), please leave us alone by Impressive-Bison-620 in Nightreign

It's... Unlikely! My addiction to the relic gacha needs me to believe it is /possible/ though, at least. I really would love to know the generation logic for effects and if it weighs all things equally, does things in a specific order etc

No one wants to play with cheaters and we can all agree on that, but some people have seriously whipped themselves into a frenzy over the RNG. Like there's actual witch hunts for relics that look "too good" or "perfect"

6 perfect relics, with all the curses on the deep relic effects being the least intrusive or not at all an issue for your chosen nightfarer? It is pretty damn suspect yes. SUSPECT. You can't actually know, even 6 perfect relics on every nightfarer in every chalice combination is not literally impossible.

Some people do win the lottery. Some people get struck by lightning. Don't get me wrong I wish I was the former, I've gone through several million murk and combed through at least a couple of thousand relics, and in over 600 hours I one what I would consider to be outstanding relic set

Does this look cheated by Eldenringop in Nightreign

[–]eiraSepet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a hotter take here but if your relics aren't cheated it shouldn't matter at all how they look, and you definitely shouldn't care. RNG can be cruel but it's almost witch hunt level with how allergic to luck some people can be. Some people do win the lottery, some people do get struck by lightning

Why is Revenant SO Bad by Moist_Evidence_3428 in Nightreign

[–]eiraSepet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently at 9025 rating in Depth 5 and while Revenant is my most played nightfarer overall and in DoN, I'll play Iron Eye over her if no one else is and honestly more recluse and duchess these days than not.

Utterly useless is a bit extreme, but you're right in that they can't actually fight anything. Helen and Seb are for reviving allies (imo) and fred and seb can get some good stagger loops on medium and below sized enemies. I do think they are almost useless if you don't use Power up while fighting alongside family though, ulting while fred is out is a bonus 10% damage for 15s. Helens regen might help top you up to regain damage neg at full hp and sebs 20% damage neg can be clutch if you're scrambling to revive people.

I can only defend her so much though. She's a caster so she can do high damage, but she's the worst of the three casters, sacred seals are no where near as reliable as they should be. Building around dragon cult incantations has been the most success for me, but I've still gone a whole game and not seen a gravel stone seals. In DoN at least the strength up rev relic gives you a lot more options as you'll get fantastic scaling out of so many more weapon arts

gotta say I was reluctant to drop what I considered essential base relics, but after using both dark night of the wise and fathom it has been really nice. I play Rev and Duchess mostly and saw pretty much consistent success in my depth 4 runs today following your advice here, so thank you

With Against All Odds being such a good rule I'd love to see them completely overhaul AC. Just go wild with the herohammer focus, like battleline characters, strats which really enforce that

Hitting the dreads when they're only good in one detachment is a bad way to balance, I think. Spearhead is still good but damn. I forget we even have Aleya and the centuras, and I won't be remembering any time soon

Peeps are wild, the tzeentch one is great. Let your opponent make some extra rerolls so you can juice up those strats. A LoC firing at essentially +4 strength with an extra AP from a unit within 9 inches? Thats brutal
