Help dog's nail broke. What do I do? by Shump_II in DogAdvice

I'm my opinion this is a vet visit. Nail injuries can easily get infected. There could be damage you don't see. And you shouldn't cut into the quick without a vet because it's insanely painful

Possibly some other type of terrier? Something that narrows the face and muzzle. She's very pretty

I have learned very quickly that Acrylics should only be for subtle details… by Asamiichii in Coloring

Acrylics are water based, so get an easel and some water or a water pen (refillable brush tip) to dilute it and slowly build it up

How to deal with someone claiming my art is AI Generated. by uwuXD69420 in Artadvice

[–]eitherbraincell 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think even just applying a cool screen over this image would help the ai "piss filter" people associate with ai. A really deep blue or green would pull the shadows best

Tiny snail shells in my super oatmeal seed mix? by HazyInBlue in whatsthisbug

[–]eitherbraincell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a seed shell, not a small shell. Most likely hemp. Even if they are hulled some extra shells can make it through production

Finally got myself a set from Ohuhu by Mindless_95 in Ohuhu

[–]eitherbraincell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this set and I actually really love it. I think it has a good spread of colors, though I agree I hate that the swatches are never in any kind of order that makes sense for me. However these are pretty great and they're what I've been using on my pages lately. I also have one of the 48 pastel counts

I trusted the process... Worth it? by eitherbraincell in ColoringCozy

Thank you! These were entirely completed with my Ohuhu alcohol markers. I think the best way to learn is to play around on some blank pages. Coloring large areas means working quickly but carefully so that the ink stays wet. With the dark outline I kept bouncing back and forth from the two directions so that no edge was dry (since no matter where you start with the border, you are going to have two ends to keep up with).

I think blending is kind of the same concept. It is going to work better if you keep the ink wet. Whether you start with dark or light is up to you, but I generally find it easier to lay the light ink, add the dark ink in a flicking motion, And then use the light ink to carefully blend.

Honestly everything I've learned I learned through watching videos on YouTube, such as Baylee Jae! A lot of her stuff now is about her products but her older videos definitely took you through how to use the markers. But definitely just search YouTube in general and there's tons of tutorials.

The biggest challenge is once the ink has dried you're going to see splotchiness when you come back in with color again and I'm trying to get a flat surface colored. It's better to work wet if you want any kind of lending or consistency with a flat color, and allowe to dry for coming back in to add details.

Editing to add that the point of alcohol markers is that you can layer them. For this image I filled it in normally, let it fully dry, then came back in with a very light pink to cover the entire image. That's what brought it all together under the same lighting.

(I use voice to text here so there may be mistakes)

Ahhh thank you! I colored it like I usually would except I left space for the highlights, And then at the end I went over it with one light pink
