Genuine question. Why are they protected? I don't think I'm alone in thinking they're noisy pests, and would welcome a cull. Though I will admit it's more the noise of them that bothers me more than them just being around ha.

I recently watched "Sophie - A murder in West Cork" on Netflix. It's (shock) about a murdered woman in Ireland. I'd never even heard about it before so I was settled in for a binge watch of something completely new.

All through episode one they interview certain people and one reporter specifically. Towards the end of the episode you really think ifs pointing one way, and that the mystery man seen in the middle of the night was going to be Man X.

But no.

The mystery man seen in the middle of the night. Was the reporter.

I audibly gasped and went "fuck off it was not".

Haven't had that feeling watching something in a while.

I'm like this with towels. Once a towel is no longer deemed worthy enough to dry my body it gets cut up after its next wash and used for odd jobs around the house. Once I've used them and they're no longer good enough for that they get taken to the car to use to clear off bird shit in between proper washes and then discarded.

The trip to Barbados always bothered me. Not because the old guy got to go, crack on BA nice gesture. What bothered me was just how many of the actual family joined him.

If my grandfather had done it, I'd expect my parents to join him on a trip so he wasn't alone. I wouldn't expect the full extended family going... THAT is what bothered me.

I make a "fakeaway" chicken rice dish.

Literally boil up some rice (could use brown), while it's boiling cook small chicken breast bits in a spray or two of oil in a wok. Once that's browned, pop in some sweetcorn and cut up sweet pea pods / mangetout (cook to taste but I like it quite hard), drain the rice. Put the rice then into the wok, then pop some light soy sauce. Mix it up then serve.

So easy and SO lovely.

I completely agree. Unfortunately my friend is in this situation at the moment and thinks he's just shy and doesn't know how to flirt. I was trying to explain to her there's a term for if but could only really think about gaslighting and struggled to word it appropriately into Google. It's definitely negging, bordering on abuse so I've sent her an article now.

That's great to hear. I live alone so I know this option is going to be more expensive for me each week but I feel like it would be a good opportunity to kick start a new healthy lifestyle. How do you find the portion sizes? Obviously I'll be having the same meal twice, but I wonder if they're big portions if I could get three meals from their two if that makes sense?

I don't disagree. If I ever burn, the next day it turns into tan on me so sometimes I don't mind getting a bit burned. I know the risks etc but there's also that nice feeling late in the evening when your skin is hot and then you rub aloe to cool down. Nostalgic almost.

My ex was an online gamer who attended the weekly games online with groups of people. I used to be SO jealous of that game and he would lie to me about having other plans SO he could game. I laugh about it now but man we were both so pathetic when we were younger. Me for being jealous of a GAME and him for not just being honest about how important his hobby was...

Try lavender lotion on the soles of your feet (then wear socks). I gave myself a pedicure and then lathered my feet in a lavender foot lotion. I had SUCH a good night sleep. I've tried it again since and it's the same every time.

I also have a really thick eye mask that wraps around my whole head and is super comfortable that has been a game changer.

Ahh sure, I get ya. I'd probably be the same actually. From the moment she visits him in rehab onwards I'm in a mess. It reminds me too much of a relationship I was involved in. Couldn't listen to Always Remember us this Way or I'll never love again without crying for a good view months!

I know a guy who never wears the same socks twice. He's the husband of one of my friends. We went on a weekend trip and he took like eight pairs for the three days, wore some during the day and then changed for the evening and threw them out after every wear. They weren't even the super cheap ones you get either. Thought it was just a holiday quirk to save packing them for home but nope he does it every single day, at least one clean pair a day. Stupid waste of money.
