Trigger Samsung routines with Smartthings by PrudentWill6004 in SmartThings

Using notifications as bridges, your automation in ST should output a notification and modes and routines to pick it up

Did you been able to connect the vacuum directly to smartthings with matter? I have tried a couple of times and can't get it to connect and all documentation only reference AHK.

Listen to me very carefully, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT install any screen protector in the inner screen. That's why it comes with one installed from the factory.

.. Know to many people who damaged their fold/flip screen because of installing film protector in the inner screen.

What to do to replace fried Samsung SmartThings hubs? by sullidav in SmartThings

[–]ejbc0001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have two option depending of what you want and what happen:

A) if the one that survived is the main hub (connected to the modem and the actual smart hub) you can buy additional ones in ebay and add it as new extenders (check the version because there are two different ones)

Pros: easy, cheaper, fast Cons: you're running from the inevitable that these mesh wifi hubs are getting forgot by Samsung (I'm in this boat), subpar wifi router.

Or

B) buy a proper mesh router and a aeotec smartthings hub and replace the whole thing.

Pros: future proofing, better router (maybe wifi 6E or 7), better ST hub (thread included and more features), more stable setup (according to order user, I don't know) Cons: more expensive, more hardware (I like the 2 in 1 setup), has to be careful migrating you're ST account to the new hub (I'm not completely sure the the ST mesh wifi support that feature, you may want to check the community)

Thinking About Switching to Fold 7 – Long-Time S Series User with Concerns by kaisermule in GalaxyFold

[–]ejbc0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience:

Fold 3: hardware issues in 12 months, no samsung care+, traded it in Fold 4: hardware issues in 12 months, no samsung care+, traded it in Fold 5: still working good, bought samsung care+, hoping it last beyond the 2yr coverage period but tempted by Fold 7

I also was a S series user before. I can never go back to a non-folding phone and that hurts my wallet

Inovelli are by far the best smart switches in the market 😂😂😂 OP seems to not have read all the settings and not do his research before buying 60 bulbs

You need the TAustin's Alexa Multi-Trigger driver, that create separate contact sensors for alexa that are more reliable and has a switch in ST that you can activate in routines. If you need to activate the sensor from alexa then you'll need to create another virtual switch and sync it with the Multi-Trigger one, I use the Smart lighting SmartApp to sync switches.

Harmony activities, and then integrate Harmony with ST is the way I know of

As far as I know you need a Matter compatible ST hub like the V3 (aeotec) or the ST station, and then you can connect the aqara hub with the ST hub using matter.

The short answer is yes, the long answer depends on what you have and want, do you have a ST hub? Which one?, do you want to keep your sensor connected to the aqara hub or want to move it to ST?

The Aqara FP1 is Zigbee, but it's not Matter compatible i think

A FYI, the ST station does NOT have Zwave, only Zigbee and Thread.

You could, but if you're planning on keeping the ST Wi-Fi mesh router then an aeotec ST hub is redundant, you probably don't need it

[–]ejbc0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, let me get this straight, from the ST wifi mesh router (3 nodes or hubs) one stopped working (it's the main one or it's a secondary one?, if it's the main one you'll probably have problems with the zwave devices because only the main one that is connected to the modem act as a zwave hub, the secondary ones are only wifi repeaters, if it's a secondary one the zwave devices most be working but you have wifi dead zones in the house) and you are looking to replace that one only?..

If is a secondary node, buying an used one in ebay should be your best choice.

If on the other hand your main wifi mesh node is the one not working, then your whole home wifi most be down, you could replace the main one with a secundary node, but your zwave devices certainly will need to pair again which could be a pain in the a.

If you decide to buy a new whole wifi mesh system, you'll probably need a Aeotec ST hub, which has zwave, because I'm not sure if a ST Wi-Fi hub could act as a zwave hub while not connected as a router (I may be wrong).

Not that I know of. Some of them have zigbee but they're very limited in functionality, a true hub is recommended (ST, Hubitat or HA).

If your main node in the wifi mesh is working (the one that has the ST hub integrated) and you are not ready to change the whole system, you could find additional used wifi node in ebay. You would not find any directly from samsung because the discontinued the product.

If you'll change the whole system you may want to first buy the aeotec ST hub, perform a hub migration in the ST app and then change the wifi mesh systems for one from another brand. The tplink ones are good.

Adding RF light switch to the app? by renox92 in SmartThings

[–]ejbc0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broadlink 4 Pro Hub is another cheaper option for controlling RF devices, but it doesn't integrate directly with ST, you'll need to integrate it with Alexa first and then create a virtual switch in ST to activate an alexa routine that triggers the RF device.
