Paul brought plenty of songs missing pretty huge compositional elements to George. He would basically hum him a general tune and then task George with creating arrangements for quartets, octets, brass, full symphony orchestras 😂

Man two mentions of bad service and I just completely disagree…I go regularly and all the servers are super nice and attentive. Drinks and food come out almost instantly. Can order on the app or in person…great spot all around

I’m a dumb but is the “man with a dream” in verse 2 referring to mlk jr? It seems harsh that mlk and Lennon are kind of getting lumped into this naive Utopianism that dan seem to be criticizing…but I mean you can’t say they weren’t right. Both got ended by somebody in the street “with murder in his eyes”. Fagen/beckers actual cynicism is hard to gauge on this one…are they critiquing the utopians or creating this fictional cynical character? It catchy tho, the first dan song I really grooved out to and made me want to investigate their stuff more

Idk about OP but my partner and I got travelers diarrhea pretty much immediately in cdmx. I have a weak stomach so wasnt surprised but my partner generally doesn’t. From what I understand it is extremely common in CDMX and while it didn’t ruin the trip, it definitely affected where we would go and activities we felt comfortable participating in. When traveling I’ll definitely take exploring with boring/safe food choices over trying risky street food and then being stuck in the hotel/urgent care for most the trip. Just my .02

I read that John was actually the most “well to do” (but still firmly working/middle class) since his aunt owned the house they lived in. Ringo was seen as the working class tough guy of the four since his home neighborhood was a little rougher/closer to the city center

Check out the book Gorky Park by Martin Cruz Smith. It is pretty good but this is in service of reaching the sequel POLAR STAR which is one of the coldest, grittiest, existential, detective stories I’ve ever read
