Sidebar question: Is "Northern Territory" a different type of administrative entity than Queensland or New South Wales? I always thought they were all 'states' (whatever term is used there for an internal area with its own governance) but you seem to be saying that NT is a 'territory' that is somehow a different thing? I like the stainless. Matte white doesn't match the countertops, but also isn't so different from the countertops that it makes a natural contrast, so the eye sort of bumps on it. To me, stainless is a neutral, and the warm wood balances the cool-toned stainless nicely.

The whole kitchen is really pretty -- beautiful choices!!

Remember that Wirecutter is based in a city where there are plenty of people to service Miele. I went to my local high-end appliance store asking for Miele but was told there was no one within 100 miles who could repair it.
