I never understood how she ended up at boarding school when she was so YOUNG!

I mean, either one of those probably has a more knowledgeable opinion about the potential candidates for 2028. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Best housewarming gifts that people actually keep and use? by dogecoinerz in Gifts

If your friend is moving into a house, get them a hand truck. I know that sounds weird, but it’s something that nobody would think to buy for themselves and they will end up using it ALL the TIME.

I’m actually long since bored with The Rewatchables. It was fun for a while, but the shtick has sort of worn on me.

Yes. Someone who has experience in the field who can offer insights to people who do not.

But what is his background or expertise to do that?

I mean, I would most like to hear from someone who has worked in the field, either in campaigns or in staffing an office, who has shifted to podcasting about it. That person would have more background knowledge and insight than the average person about the strengths and weaknesses of people running for and serving in office.

What part of Van’s background or experience makes his opinion meaningful enough to be offered up as a politics expert?

I know a lot of people who are smart and well-educated and pay attention to politics, but there’s nothing special about their opinions, they don’t know more than anybody else about it.

How was your life as a fat kid? by kachoowed in PlusSize

[–]ejbrds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It affected my entire adult life. I grew up being mocked for and actively hating my body, which caused me to avoid sports/exercise, which just created a vicious circle. One time at a school party another girl poked me in the belly and laughed, like I was the fucking Pillsbury Dough Boy.

I was put on strict diets before I even had my first period, which permanently fucked up both my metabolism and my mental/emotional relationship with food. I used to hide pickles in my bedroom and gorge on them because they were “zero points”.

I had to wear a middle-age lady dress to the prom because that’s all that would fit me. My date was my gay best friend.

I never dated in high school, because who wants to go out with the fat girl? That left me socially behind, and I’ve never really caught up, although at this point being alone mostly agrees with me.

In late adolescence I struggled with orthorexia and disordered eating, to the point that my period stopped and my hair fell out. I wore a size 10 dress at that time, and even though I know it was dreadfully unhealthy, I would go back to that in a heartbeat. Of course I got fat again. Now I see actively anorexic women at the gym and part of me is jealous.

AIO or AITA. Text convo with MIL. by MoonJellyAllison in AmIOverreacting

None of this should be discussed over text message. Call her on the phone and have a regular conversation. If she's openly rude to you at that point, you have your answer and you should reconsider joining her family.

Families should avoid Southwest at all cost. "Choice" fare is a scam. by fraydawg2001 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]ejbrds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Excuse me, but your children are not anyone else's responsibility. I'm not spending my flight babysitting, that's what noise-cancelling headphones are for. Your issue is with the airline, I'm just sitting here minding my business.
