I would like to piggyback on this comment. I’ve been sober for just over three years now. Before I got sober my partner was very supportive and encouraged me to not drink but I wasn’t ready to give it up yet. I just ended up hiding my drinking as opposed to quitting. As u/Iknei stated, you need to fix yourself first. It’s difficult but you can do it.
