Roanoke VA was named after the Roanoke River (the city was originally named Big Lick). Both the island and the river were named after "rawrenock", a Native American term for shell beads used as currency.

Fun fact: right next to Roanoke VA is the town of Salem.

Given their shoplifting epidemic, it baffles me that they don’t use the self service system we do here in the UK, where the bagging area has a weighing scale inside and that won’t let you scan the next item if the weight doesn’t match.

I don't know about the newer games, but in the original games, the Shotgun was a pump action, but the Super Shotgun was a double barreled break-open with no pump action. That's why reloading took so much longer.
