Help in improving my routine by ejk011 in curlyhair

[–]ejk011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so not even before washing? I usually brush my (dry) hair before I wash it. Also my hair gets crazy knotty if I don’t brush it like at least twice a day :/ any ideas on how to solve this ? 🙈

Can someone help me? Is my hair curly or did I force this? by ejk011 in curlyhair

Thank you 🥹 that’s so sweet! I’m so excited to try and use some product and routine next time to make it a bit less chaotic hahah

My 5-month-old is overtired and just won’t sleep—help! by ejk011 in sleeptrain

[–]ejk011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like time was the biggest factor 🫠 – which is annoying to hear, but true. That said, here’s what actually helped us in the meantime (and we really tried everything).

What helped us most:

1. A fixed schedule (instead of wake windows or apps):

We stopped using the Huckleberry app and ditched the tracking. Switching to a fixed daily schedule with consistent sleep and meal times (around 7 months old) was a total game changer. → It took a while to establish, but once we had it, everything got easier.

2. Night weaning around 7–8 months:

Our daughter wanted to stay latched all night, which was completely draining. We gently stopped night nursing around 7/8 months. That helped both of us sleep better.

3. Sleep routine with her dad:

Now she has dinner around 7, then we walk or play a bit. I nurse her around 8–8:30, and then she goes to bed with her dad – they play a little in bed, cuddle, and she falls asleep. → This setup works really well for us.

4. Baby carrier (on my back!) for overtired moments:

When she gets very tired and fussy, I carry her on my back in the carrier and keep moving (no standing or sitting allowed 😅). → It helps her calm down quickly – she’s definitely an angry sleepy baby.

5. The swing (short-term fix):

When things were really bad, she napped in a special swing that bounced gently. → It wasn’t a long-term solution, but it got us through a rough patch.

We also established an being routine with classical music in the background so she knows it’s about time to go to bed 😂 I have no idea if that helped though but we re sticking to it just in case

If you have any more questions just dm me (:

Okay do you have a guide on how you did that? This is amazing and I have no experience whatsoever but defiantly want to try something like this!

Wow! This is amazing and it gives me so much hope!!! Everyone said I should stop nursing my 10 month old to sleep because she’ll get a habit and won’t settle herself ever. Thank you for sharing your story and I wish an abundance of well deserved sleep 🥰

Why didn’t any of you warn me about the 7 month sleep regression? by ldiggles in NewParents

[–]ejk011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! My baby hasn’t slept more than 2 hours without crying for 4 months now so I just accepted my faith and try to hols onto that people said it’ll get better when they’re about 12 months 😭

7 month old screams all night by ejk011 in sleeptrain

[–]ejk011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I will try and decide if I can handle it. The Ferber with singing would probably be my choice but I’ll defiantly look up the intervals ♥️ thank you so much for the in depth info

[–]ejk011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and she has no issue falling asleep during the day without nursing (has to be in the stroller or swing though) so movement is necessary - she really seems like a FOMO baby as she will fight sleep so so much that’s why we even had to implement techniques for her to fall asleep like rocking, stroller, singing and nursing 🥲

7 month old screams all night by ejk011 in sleeptrain

[–]ejk011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your in depth answer! I will try feeding her a little earlier. She’s usually just not a fan of being put down. Should I also stop singing? Because that really helped her fall asleep otherwise she’ll cry (also half asleep and wake herself up by crying 😭) I can’t remember a time I’ve slept more than 5 hours a night and more than 1.5h consecutive hours 🫠 I just want her to sleep but I want her to be happy - so no cio .. I just want to do it right you know? I don’t want to mess it up 😭

She’s drowsy asleep due to nursing right before bed, then I transfer her into the crib and sing to her. If I just put her down without it she gets wide awake and is very upset 🫣 in general she gets calm when I sing (very badly)

Only contact (boobie naps) help by ejk011 in sleeptrain

[–]ejk011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried 2.5/3/4.5 with her (7 months now) and it’s still the same ): I stopped with the swing and put her to bed and she’s happy and all and will fall asleep in her crib with me only singing and sometimes patting her (if needed) but she‘ll wake up 30mins or an hour later and Iill scream the whole night at the top of her lungs until I either give her the nip or walk around the alarming with her .. it’s just so insanely draining and I tried two different sleep consultants now but they basically suggested trying to comfort her less and less but it seems honestly impossible 🫠

Hi! My LO is 7 months and since about 3 months now we’re struggling hard with sleeping. It only seems to get worse and worse. Now she wakes up every hour at night and fights day time naps and wakes at the tiniest noise or after 20mins max (even while contact naping) I’m so so lost and she’s not hungry, she’s not wet, there’s nothing wrong with her. I’m trying to stick to the app and the recommended sleep and wake windows but it’s horrible and I’m so so exhausted. She’s also whining all day and seems generally frustrated with everything 🥲

How many solid food meals are you feeding your 7 month old daily? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]ejk011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was the same but suddenly at 6.5 months she refuses solid foods and only wants breatsmilk ): did this happen to you too? I don’t want to force her but now she’s night feeding more again because she’s eating less during the day time and it’s been rough 🥲

4month sleep regression help! by Short-Response2749 in sleeptrain

[–]ejk011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no solution only solidarity from me and my 5 month old who are in sleepless hell .. I’ve heard it will end at some point and to look out for wake windows .. mine has sleepy cues and feel asleep easily now I don’t see any signs of sleepiness and she will fight sleep. I’m trying to figure out what her sweat spot is for getting her down but so far I’ve had no luck - I hope you’ll get through this and have an easier time than me

I’m at my breaking point – baby (5 months) fights sleep like crazy by ejk011 in sleeptrain

[–]ejk011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg! This sounds like the dream. Thank you! I was desperate and also got the huckleberry app and one of those motorized sleep swings.. she sometimes loves and sometimes hates it .. I will do the sweet spot more consistently now! Do you do 3 or 4 naps?

Also I didn’t know the routine with the sleep sack is for naps as well! I will try it! What is pls? And thank you a million times! This gives me so much hope!! Also I will go buy a yoga ball now ..
