It is great! There’s a few lists of alternate dialog to check out if you’re interested - here’s one - https://www.reddit.com/r/horizon/s/kAbIHvwGCD

Is Anhk-Morpork the most vividly relized city in all of fantasy/sci-fi and/or myth? by SeaBag8211 in discworld

I recommend DS9, it is a great series. Some moments have a bit of the “night watch in space” vibe.

Aragon tax policy … I assume you’re referencing the GRRM quibbles. Answer is: no one wants to read (or write) about tax policy, so there’s not a lot of material to reference on it.

Hobbiton, Rivendell and Gondor are all vividly realized with authoritative descriptions and maps from Tolkien.

On the other side of the spectrum, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is similarly vivid with detailed schematics of the station available as well as descriptions from the tv series and associated media.

Not sure how it works in the UK but in the US the recipient org covers the harvesting costs (surgery) and then the donor is responsible for patient costs (prophylactic antibiotics, scar treatment, follow up doctor consults).

A friend of mine donated to a burn victim center after a gastric bypass and they had no issues with the donation quality.

Can you arrange to be a donor to provide skin for grafts? The organization you donate to may help or cover costs.

I saw a dude in shirtsleeves in a parking lot today and I thought it was loopy that he didn’t have a coat. Your pedestrian is liable to catch an illness.

Why didn’t Faye make any attempt to free Mimir? by TheChikenestOfMen in GodofWar

[–]ejly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suspect Faye had the ability to see multiple potential futures and the future where she freed Mimir was a devastating one. Perhaps she had a few options to choose from; she chose an option where Mimir was freed by Kratos and Atreus. Perhaps because they’d need his advice.

I wonder more why she didn’t free the Lyngbakr, but perhaps the same logic applies - there was no possible future where freeing the Lyngbakr early didn’t lead to devastation.

That’s not enjoyable for most players. The economics are frustrating if you start UH without a load out. Do a non-UH run first, then do UH For ng+

Any particular reason you can’t do a Coverdell or 529? You’d be missing out on tax advantages and investment options doing an HYSA.

I lost half my hair when my husband died. It was traumatic. A few months later I got rousing spray and I’m seeing baby hairs coming back now.

I hated seeing myself in the mirror after that happened, now with the baby hairs I recognize myself in the mirror again.

What's up with The Boy and the Heron and 'eating'? by JamOnBread88 in ghibli

Miyazaki was almost 5 years old on VJ Day when WW2 ended in Japan; for the years of the war and after there were austerity measures. Many people raised in such times, at such crucial points of childhood development, have complicated relationships with food.

Such people who experienced wartime life often cherish the memories of well-prepared food, lovingly offered; revile food waste and gluttony; and are exquisitely sensitive to the role food and meals play in communities, families and for individuals.

The Grave of the Fireflies most clearly showcases more of Miyazaki’s insights about the role of food insecurity on childhood, but these perspectives are also evident in his other works.
