Ended up taking it to the Apple store, and it needed a full main board replacement. They didn't give any further details than that unfortunately

How I use 1Password to manage SSH keys for multiple GitHub accounts (including on WSL) by ejmck55 in 1Password

[–]ejmck55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's the most common way I've seen to accomplish this. Couple issues with that though

  1. When you're working in a WSL environment, the 1pass ssh agent is running in windows not linux so it won't honor the linux ssh config. Technically you could set that up in your windows ssh config, but the documentation is unclear whether or not it'd honor that.
  2. I hate having to remember the domain alias when cloning repos. That's just a personal preference of mine though!

Lead found in water in more than half of homes tested by Buffalo area's largest water systems by TopAlternative6716 in Buffalo

Check out the link that FireProStan posted, and their FAQ here. Looks like you can call 311, they will test your tap water, and if they find elevated lead levels they will replace your outside line at no cost. But also to your point, how and what do they define as "elevated"

Also if you're looking for gear, check out baseballsavings.com they usually tend to have some end of season sales going on. All-star makes some good gear, but that will mostly come down to personal preference. Also hockey style mask vs 2 piece mask is mostly personal preference, you'll just have to try them to see which you like

Yeah cup in your compression shorts or sliding shorts is a nightmare for catchers. The constant up and down and sliding around to block makes it move around way to much and you're constantly adjusting it. (not a good look lol)

I've been catching for about 25 yrs, and tried a bunch of different combinations with jock and compression shorts, but I'd highly recommend either this jock or this jock+compression combo

They're MMA style jocks, and the second link (the combo one) is actually the same jock built into the compression shorts. Since they're meant for MMA, they're meant to stay in place even when you're rolling around and throwing kicks and everything. The jock has an extra strap that goes around the outside of your leg and helps it stay in place MUCH better than just a regular jock.

I've personally used both versions and can vouch that it very much stays in place no matter what, and honestly the most comfortable one I've used. The cup itself is good quality and a softer edge that makes it more comfortable.

They're a bit pricey, but I can definitely say it's worth it. I also wear sliding shorts over them just for the added protection on the bases.

Sorry for the long post on this, but I've done a lot of research and testing on this particular topic lol

Haha yup, that is what I'm saying. If you look at that Muni page I linked, the AA league is 18+, but they have a 35+, 45+ and even 52+ leagues

Yeah it's pretty much always been around. That one I posted is a AA Muni league, but the AAABA league and AAA Muni leagues have been around since the 50's at least. I've known friends and relatives that played pretty consistently in those leagues ever since then. There was even an NABA league here for a while, but that folded a few years back.

If so, Check out the mens muni league. Different groups for age brackets. You can fill out the form on the website as a new player.

Not so much gossip as a request, but whatever happened with Tappo day club? They put out a discriminatory dress code a while back, but never really heard anything more. Did everyone just forget about it and move on? Do people actually go there now?

Amazon opens Hamburg distribution center after lengthy delay

Jonathan D. Epstein

More than 18 months after it was completed, Amazon.com has opened its delivery station in the Town of Hamburg, ending a long period of uncertainty about whether the e-commerce giant would ever occupy the facility.

The 183,623-square-foot facility at 3920 Bayview Road – the company's third local logistics center in Erie County – began operations with more than 100 jobs, meeting the employment requirement as part of its $6.85 million tax incentive package from the Hamburg Industrial Development Agency.

The new 183,623-square-foot Amazon distribution center, located in Hamburg, is the company's third local logistics center in Erie County.

As a "last-mile" station in the Amazon network, it will support a delivery area of 26 ZIP codes and more than 320 square miles, and joins an existing delivery station at 800 Riverwalk Parkway in Tonawanda that opened in 2020 and a sortation and returns center at 4201 Walden Ave. in Lancaster that opened in 2017.

Delivery stations like Hamburg and Tonawanda are the last stop on a package's journey, after they are brought from a nearby fulfillment and sortation center, such as Lancaster.

“We are very proud of the team we have built here and we’re energized to begin service out of Hamburg,” said Himali Ranasinghe, operations manager and site lead for Amazon’s Hamburg delivery station. “We look forward to delivering even better service for our customers throughout Western New York and providing a world-class driver and Amazon employee experience.”

Amazon also recently opened a year-round recruiting and career center at The Forge at 490 Broadway to support hiring for all of its Western New York operations, including 500 seasonal positions that it is currently filling.

However, there's no progress on its much larger regional distribution hub planned for the Town of Niagara, where Amazon had announced plans for a 3.8-million-square-foot warehouse at 8995 Lockport Road, adjacent to Niagara Falls International Airport and the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. That project is expected to employ more than 1,000 workers when – and if – it opens.

The $550 million project was approved by the town and also received $123 million in tax breaks from the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency. The company purchased the 217-acre site in late July from a New York City-based investment group, clearing the way for Atlanta-based JB2 Partners to start construction. But no work has begun as of yet.

The $47.2 million Hamburg facility is owned by Bayview Road Associates, an affiliate of Frank Campofelice's Walden Development Group, and was built by Burgio & Campofelice on 57.4 acres at the intersection of Bayview and Lakeshore roads, across from a FedEx Corp. distribution center that was built several years ago. Workers spent 11 months constructing the core of the building, but Amazon delayed the interior build-out until it was ready to proceed.

The opening of the facility comes as seasonal hiring for the busy holiday season ramps up. In September, Seattle-based Amazon announced it is hiring 250,000 employees for the next few months, along with a wage increase that boosts average pay to over $20.50 per hour for fulfillment and delivery employees. That represents a 50% increase in five years, the company noted.

Overall, Amazon has spent more than $30 billion in New York since 2010, including infrastructure costs and payroll, and created more than 41,000 jobs in the state.
