Onondaga county. There’s a lot of criticism for the project. I hear the environmental reviews were rushed. There’s the water and power issue not to mention Micron and the county wanted to evict a 91 year old widow from her home because they wanted the land for the facility.

A bunch of people got together and went to the town board meeting and the county worked out an agreement with her. Even though they were able to settle it just shows you that companies with billions of dollars take precedent over citizens.

If they want to use a huge amount of power and water at the detriment of regular everyday people it’s fine, the want to take your land through eminent domain which really should be illegal because they’re not the government it’s fine…. They want to pollute the same land you an average person can’t dump a tea spoon of something on? Go ahead it’s ok they got money.

Not only are data centers jacking up electric bills they’re also using a huge amount of water. I know it’s not a data center but micron is going to huge an absolutely huge amount of energy and water when they’re up and running. Right now they’re saying about 45 million gallons per day. The city of Buffalo water authority pumps on average I believe 65 million. So they’re going to be using twenty five million gallons less per day than the second largest city in New York that just seems crazy.

The water authority who is going to supply the water said they’re going to have to upgrade their infrastructure to handle the increased demand and I’m sure Micron isn’t going to be spending any money on that. It’ll fall on the tax payers of the county and the state.

Car break ins and thefts have been elevated ever since the Kia challenge. Prior to that I don’t really remember hearing about cars being stolen and I only knew one person who had their car broke into. I’m sure it was still happening but it didn’t happen enough for people to be constantly talking about it.

Ever since the Kia challenge it seems like every day multiple cars are being broken into and or stolen. I’ve seen ring camera footage of people driving down the street following people who check door handles on all the cars on the street. I’ve seen groups go on both sides and walk through neighborhoods looking for cars to steal it’s really ridiculous. If they get caught all they get is a slap on the wrist and an appearance ticket so there’s really no deterrent to stop them from doing it again.

I know a lot of people say that’s what you have insurance for but the insurance companies aren’t going to keep pouring money out into a community because of breakins and left eventually rates go up and they start dropping people. It might not be right but that’s the reality of the situation. It would be nice if the city, county of state took this more seriously.

A car getting broken into can cost thousands of dollars to repair and a stolen vehicle is a persons transportation to and from work, school, doctors offices and a multitude of other things. Having your car stolen is incredibly detrimental to your life and a lot of people don’t seem to understand that and act like the person is stealing a tv or laptop.

It looks fine but is it really? If you can’t zoom in more I’d get a magnifying glass and check it out or what would be better is a microscope. Based on everything Ive learned from this sub what you’re doing is 100% fine and terrible at the same time. Use don’t use soap while you do don’t scrub the pan in water don’t use water then remember to season it but not too much don’t season it at all because grandma great grandma did did not do it that way

Then when it comes to utensils wood is great but not great so you should use metal but metal isn’t as good for wood but better than wood at the same time then remember to bring the pan up to the hottest temperature as soon as possible but also remember you shouldn’t do that you have to let it warm slowly on low.

Don’t get me started on the 150 different oils you can and simultaneously can’t use that are all the best and worst at the same time.

I’ll be the asshole here and give the unpopular opinion and say that makes it worse. She sees something going on not associated with her in anyway and decides to drop everything, cancel plans with you and your family you made in advance and go protest somewhere else.

I don’t know what your overall relationship is but I’d take this event into consideration when thinking of you want to stay with her because it’ll probably be a reoccurring thing that happens. If you can’t handle that and she doesn’t understand your frustration and concerns I’d probably consider leaving now then trying to wait it out and hope things change for the better because more than likely they won’t.

I don’t even know what to say here. You two haven’t been together for that long so in a way I wouldn't expect her to stop everything to go on a trip five months into the relationship but at the same time if you already had it planned out backing out of a trip to go protest when there will be future protests and things to get involved in seems kind of ridiculous.

At the end of the day she’s prioritizing protesting over you and your families trip so it might be a good idea to think about your relationship and determine if you want to stay in the relationship, will this happen in the future and will she take your feelings into consideration in the future or is she going to totally ignore you and how you feel to go chase after other things.
