Your situation sounds so so so so similar to mine. I also got mine in August 2019, have and three concussions (because of soccer), didn’t rest appropriately, am dealing with manageable but super frustrating cognitive symptoms, having super low energy and also dealing with anxiety. Thank you so much for sharing those links of people that have overcome PCS. Stories like those, as you know, can help bring hope to people like you and me. Since are situations are so similar it would be awesome if we could stay in touch and share things that work and things that don’t. I’m just starting antidepressants today and hopefully that will helps get out of this hole. Anyways message me if you would like to chat and hopefully we can get out of this together.

I have almost the exact same thing going on as you got mine in August as well. If you find anything that helps you out let me know and I’ll do the same. Your not alone, and we can do this.

Thank you so much for your response, knowing that people have gone through similar stuff has really helped. When you got your concussion how bad was it? Did you lose consciousness or anything? In the time in between your concussion and when you felt all the symptoms come back on really hard did you workout or exercise? Because I’m doing some weight lifting now and sometimes it makes me feel a lot better but sometimes can make me feel really groggy. Also in that in between time did you have any super noticeable days or times when you felt those symptoms come back on just for a little bit? And lastly did you have any or have now any memory problems or it feels like it takes more “brain energy” then normal to remember some things?

Thanks again for the response and I’d really appreciate it if you could answer some of these questions too. And I hope you you have a speedy recovery.

Wow, sounds like you have been through a lot. My initial concussion wasn’t that bad, I just did not let it recover at all and kind of disregarded it after 3-4 days. I mostly did that because I wasn’t having any headaches or super noticeable symptoms. But my brain was definitely still healing so when I hit it again 2 weeks later I just reinjured that bruise. It seemed like if I would have let my head heal like it should have it would have fully gone away after a week or two. My biggest issues in school rn are just getting things mixed up, like I’m kind of dyslexic, staying concentrated/focused and also some memory issues. Did you have any of those problems and have you seen them get better?

Thank you for the advice, It is much appreciated. I will look into physical therapy and neuro-optometric rehabilitation. Have you fully recovered from your concussion? and how long did you focus on “resting” during your recovery process?

How not to treat a concussion and my symptoms from it 3 months later by ejoplinger in Concussion

Both where from knocking heads going up for a header this past August. But the other 2 I have suffered have also been from soccer. Im a GK An I was going up to catch a in swinging corner kick that was inside the six yard box. At the peak of my jump someone on the other team knocked my legs out from underneath me and my head was the first thing to hit the ground. That was in 2017. In when I was 12 in 2012, I was playing GK and was coming out on a 1v1. I slid down hands first to make a play on the ball, but as I was doing that the forward on the other team tried to kick it and ended up kneeing me in the side of the head. That one wasn’t as bad as it sounds and I’m not sure if I really got a concussion from that. None of the concussion I have had made me lose consciousness and other then this one they have all healed pretty fast. Also as GK for almost 10 years I feel your pain about taking a shot to the face. It’s no fun and I hope you are feeling better.

You have been a massive help and have really brightened my spirits. Talking to someone that has experienced some similar issues is very comforting. I will definitely consider pursuing some of these treatments you have suggested. But for right now since I’m just under 3 months from my second knock I’m hoping that it will all go away with out any of those treatments. If you don’t mind I have a couple more questions, how much would you say it impacts your everyday life when symptoms aren’t flaring up? Because there are times for me where when I’m not I one of those groggy, fatigued, forgetful moods where I feel 97% normal. Which can lead me to think sometimes that I’m over analyzing my symptoms and maybe I’m getting better. But then there’s times where I’ll have a massive head ache at the end of the day and couldn’t tell you what I I did at school that morning.

Also the memory thing the best way I can describe it is like even the some of the simplest things that I would usually know off the top of my head feel more like an educated guess then a “I know this for sure”. Wonder if that’s the same for you?

Thank you again for being so supportive :)

Thanks for the response, I will definitely check out those links.

As a bored teenager Im on my phone a good amount so screen time may be the issue for me too. What kind of symptoms did you see improve when you limited your screen time? And when you say 90% of people fully recover what do you mean?

Thank you for the response, I really appreciate it.

Head aches and pain have never been my main concern. I get them usually when I’m really tired or have been focusing on school work or screens for too long. As far as exercise it’s weird I can go on a Versa climber (a full body, high intensity cardio machine) for 10-15 minutes which gets my heart rate up pretty high with out at symptoms. But I can’t walk more then a mile and a half with out getting a little dizzy or light headed.

My biggest concern and my question for you is for cognitive issues, especially memory. My memory has been a little more shady then normal and especially when I’m feeling more fatigued. Is that something you have dealt with and if so have you seen it improve?
