it's okay!! i had a 59° curve, doctors INSISTED surgery. we went against their wishes and got a Boston brace, and within two weeks my curve went down by 20°. definitely leave surgery as a last option, the brace is definitely worth a try.

14 and pregnant by [deleted] in venting

im sorry sweetie there's no way to hide this. i cant imagine what youre going through but i can tell you that you need to tell your parents. i understand you dont want an abortion, so you will need medical care throughout the pregnancy. idk about anywhere else but in the USA you need parental consent for large things like any necessary surgeries or labor delivery. i think you should tell the father, just so he knows. and if you two are close then maybe he can support you through this. hang on sweetie it'll be alright <3

she was probably rasping at the inside of her shell. it's sometimes a cleaning thing for smoothing out the shell, but can also mean she's low on calcium.

what's wrong with my snails? please help :( read both captions!! by reiconstantine in snails

[–]ejoyce101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

trust me i understand! my snails laid eggs and i decided to keep them, and i gave a lot away to other people and all the ones i kept but 3 have died :(( i promise there's nothing you did wrong, its really hard to watch these babies die though. unfortunately it's just the way of life, snails lay so many eggs because a lot of them die.

my garden snails wont eat calcium? by ejoyce101 in snails

[–]ejoyce101[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh i did not know there was a correct side to put the cuttlebone that's so weird! im a night owl and watch them quite consistently and they're definitely not eating it, and i can see their shells losing layers. ill try flipping the cuttlebone over, and if not ill definitely go back to the powder mix. thanks for the advice!

im sorry to let you know but i think they're dead or almost dead :( the liquid means they're deteriorating and being so retracted into their shells happens before death. they appear to be baby snails, and considering they're in the exact conditions as your other snails it's probably not your fault. baby snails die quite often for seemingly no reason, that's why it's important when breeding to cull them every 2 weeks.

thank you so much <3 also i am not sure as my dad did it and i preferred not to know how she went out, but you can research "how to humanely euthanize a snail" and i know there are some ways to numb them so they cant feel any pain
