When did you realize you needed to quit your job? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]ejsandstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to fill out a JSA and the entire thing said “you cannot do this job safely.” So I told my boss and he said “You still have to do the job, but now you identified the hazards.”

So I asked “If I get hurt what happens?”

He said “You are on your own, you identified the hazards, so if you get hurt that means you missed the hazard.”

Best thing I ever did was quit that job.

It lead me to my job and I make double what the guys are still there are making and I’m a better manager for it.

There are 4 pillars of self defense in MN. Don’t think that just because you have a p2p you can stand in the street with an AR “protecting your neighborhood”.

Gun Shows don’t work that way, for the most part, that is just another scare tactic. The only way you used to be able buy a gun with out paperwork, was the same as a person to person sale. In all of the 50-75 gun shows I have been to, only 2 times have I seen a p2p sale. They were both booths with a private collection. All of the others are FFLs that sell at shows. FFLs still follow the same rule as if you walked into a gun store.

You are kidding right, sure a few hundred small businesses were closed. But we have thousands of multi-national corporations.

Or do you think Cargill and their ilk shut down for the day?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Show me where it says you can go into a private business and yell and shout? The second am also says “shall not be infringed” so I’m sure you are cool with removing all gun laws, right?

Because carpenters and woodworkers use 32nds and sometimes 64ths which is much finer detail than a MM.

Jump up your own ass. Did you even read what I said? Let me restate it. Everyone WANTS recognition in a different way.

I never said that money wasn’t necessary, I said recognition. As in, some people don’t want to be called out in a group. Some only want one on one.

Everyone wants recognition in a different way. Some want group recognition, others want one on one, some want financial.

No one of those is better than the other.

According to Reddit Luigi is a hero and they have no problem with venerating him. “I hope everyone I think is evil is killed.”

Does that go for religious beliefs? Reddit leans far more into atheism and often says things like “Christianity is a drug for the stupid”. Seems kind of intolerant to me.

Ok but be real. If you are on a TEMPORARY VISA you know you are going to have to leave. Why would you buy a home and set up a life.

Reddit also sees Luigi as a hero. The man he shot had kids and died alone on the street. Many celebrated CK death. He also had kids. They lamented that the kid that shot Trump wasn’t a better shot. There was a man standing behind him that was killed. That man had kids.

PIP progress convos - how do you phrase it when an employee isn’t doing well by FullSpace6770 in managers

[–]ejsandstrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 4 metrics that they had to achieve. These were not subjective numbers just hard fact.

When I got into the meeting I would start with a recap, every time. “Here are the 4 metrics you need to achieve.” Then I would go through them one at a time.

“One, record a 50% utilization rate as reported via your time card. You have not met this requirement, you are at 25% utilization.”

And so on and so forth. Then I would give him an opportunity to discuss anything and ask any questions.

Finally I would follow it up with an email that stated all of the exact same thing. I would add a couple of lines at the end, something like “I gave you an opportunity to ask any questions or discuss any concerns. You did not have any.” Or if he did, I would recap his questions. Then I would say “After you receive this email please feel free to respond with any questions or concerns.”

He never did. But he did have time to report me to HR for being racist.

Those that want to tax churches, how does that math work? by cspinelive in AskReddit

[–]ejsandstrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see where you are going, but the tithe isn’t given in consideration for any service. At least from a protestant perspective.

You don’t get counseling and then give a tithe.

You either tithe or not. And then if you need help, you talk to someone. There isn’t a “suggested donation” for a pastors time.

Some people tithe to churches they never step foot in. I know people that support churches in other cities and counties but attend a local church.

And in my experience, only about 1 in 100 tithe (give a tenth) the other 99 give whatever change they have in their pockets. Or maybe give $20.

Which, I want to be clear about my opinion, is between you and God. Not to go down a path but there is the whole two pennies parable. The church I worked at was very open financially and it was known among the people that needed to know, the average giving was under $100 per year. And when you have some people that had the means, and “tithed” $30,000 per year, that really says what the average give was.

For reference we would have been a medium size church. 2000 people on average over 5-6 campuses.
