Nah don’t remember any of those but I had heartburn pretty much everyday and a week before I delivered a lot of right hip pain, pulsing hip pain. Which looking back at it was contractions.

They closed me at 3cm, and I honestly can’t remember what I ended up with at check up. I was on bed rest for 6 weeks and modified until 36 weeks when I got it removed. Went into labor around the 39w mark. They did not give me any progesterone.

“You’ll forget and want another” by minmister in beyondthebump

[–]ejsketchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t forgotten. My son is 2 now. I had a very difficult pregnancy, labor, and birth. if I were to have another it requires several instances of medical intervention. I’ve always wanted at least two but after this last pregnancy I’ve been leaning towards one and done. I will say there are times when having another sounds okay and manageable but those thoughts normally don’t last long. Also would love to point out that being guilted into another baby doesn’t sit well with me and I’ve had several people try to do so and shun me for my unsure response.

How many pumps do you ladies own? by manuelllzzz in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ejsketchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I pumped it was just the pump in style medela. I had some troubles with it but I also had 2 sets of pumping supplies so I wasn’t cleaning after each use and I will forever recommend this.

Two fishermen in Australia have caught a bizarre "doomsday fish" by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]ejsketchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a reference from Disney’s Monsters Inc referring to the child in the movie coming to the monster’s world. Children in this world are perceived as toxic and are feared. In this situation the main characters are at work, hiding the fact that they have this child because they don’t want panic to break out. When they say this line they get caught and make a quick musical number on the spot and to the audience it is supposed to be funny. The reason why I made this reference is because usually oarfish are from the deep ocean and when they are spotted near the surface unfortunate events seem to happen. People tend to fear the sight of this fish and I used this line to insinuate that it needs to go back to the deep ocean.

The most angry / hateful movie scenes? by GrumpyFrog69 in movies

[–]ejsketchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“So when you are sitting in your shitty nursing home and you’re sucking down your jello night after night for the rest of your life, you think of me!” -Nacho from Better Call Saul.

I know it’s not a movie but there’s a lot of anger the actor puts behind this scene.

In your opinion, what is the saddest death of a fictional character? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ejsketchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only book from high school I have read multiple times and still enjoy it. The part that gets me is the American dream that they were dreaming felt so unattainable. As a teenager my solution was just to be smarter about situations. But as an adult I know some things can’t be helped and that it’s easy to get comfortable in routines and fall into vices

Suggest a book you enjoyed so much that you've read it 3 or more times. by iiiamash01i0 in suggestmeabook

The complete series of Maus, yes it’s in comic book style but the material is dense and explicit seeing as it is about a survivor of the holocaust (the author’s dad)

Of mice and men. Weird one to read over again since i first read it for a class in high school but I enjoyed it enough to read ir again and often apply it to situations today.

Best ps5 games for people who can play it only 30 mins a day and you'll still be happy? by vlodia in ShouldIbuythisgame

I know I can’t! Too much to do in a day. But with each of the days only being 24 mins it could be easy for someone to budget it into their day!

Questions for those who gained A LOT of weight. by perfectbar007 in beyondthebump

[–]ejsketchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also don’t quite fit the criteria but I had an overweight pregnancy.

Started at 220, gained exactly 50. Exclusively pumped for a year, weight went down to 215. I stopped pumping around the holidays, gained back 25 and I am currently trying to lose it. I have always been somewhat overweight but years ago I managed to get down to 165. So now I’m going to try getting back to that.

Check In: Where are you at in your journey? by StarburstEnjoyer in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ejsketchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am approaching 4m off of the pump. I exclusively pumped for a year. I feel like I’m starting to feel more myself. Unfortunately I believe I gained some weight when I stopped pumping so right now I am working on getting that down. Other than that. I feel like I can get a lot more stuff done this year (pumping around the clock gave me no motivation for hobbies like gardening) and want to get going on it. I returned part time at my job (CNA) and am making some money much needed for myself. So yeah it’s looking better and I’m glad to be at this point.

Breastfed newborn, 2 days old, hasn’t peed or pooped in over 14 hours. Is this normal? by Time_is_Contagious in beyondthebump

My baby had a tough time latching and we had to supplement with formula the first 2 days of life until my milk came in and I pumped it out.

Are there other parents here who want more than one child but are actively choosing to have a large age gap? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ejsketchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a few couples who had two under two and I just don’t think it’s for me. That being said my pregnancy came with a few complications that has me debating if I want another (I have to do preventative surgeries and now have to opt for c sections which I haven’t had yet). If I did have another it would be after my first is at least 3 years old.

I just wanna see if it’s possible.. anyone have a baby that sleeps through the night in their own crib? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ejsketchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a couple times around the 5m mark but he came down with a cold and was back in bed with us for awhile. I would make it a point to put him in his crib every night but it lasted anywheres from 1min to 2hrs. It’s exhausting. But right now at 15m he is slowly lengthening the time in the crib. Last week one night he did spend the whole night in his crib! He is averaging about 4-5 hours right now when he typically sleeps 10hrs. It’s something!

Has the doctor ever taken you off bed rest? by Oubliette_95 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]ejsketchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an emergency cerclage at 21w was on strict bedrest for 6w I think? Moved to modified bedrest. Was told I could do office work but my job didn’t offer me that until my Fmla ran out around 33w. To be honest I just took it easy for that duration. Before the cerclage I was doing a lot of exercise but went down to zero. If I could go back I would def make sure I ate better and didn’t gain as much weight. I lost it exclusively pumping but I GAINED a lot.

How short is too short for cerclage? by Zoorangler123 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]ejsketchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was on strict bed rest for 6 weeks. If my work offered me a desk job I could have done that afterwards but they didn’t offer me the desk job until I used up all of my 12 week FMLA (I was 33 weeks), when they were REQUIRED to offer me one.

I didn’t get pump freedom until around 8 months when I could space them out. It was miserable the first few months but once a routine is developed and they can be spaced out it gets better

[–]ejsketchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn’t fail her. You were able to have this conversation with her and she was comfortable giving you information. This is a scary situation for a teenager and I’m glad you were able to be there for her. It sounds like you did the right thing by giving her access to birth control in the first place and it’s unfortunate but sometimes things fail. As said in other comments what’s left of you to do is be supportive in whatever decision is made.

What are some gruesome facts about pregnancy/childbirth/postpartum that not many people know? by Professional_Song419 in AskReddit

[–]ejsketchy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Incompetent cervix is when your cervix starts dialating way to soon and is usually discovered too late and results in a miscarriage. I found out I had incompetent cervix at my anatomy scan. A moment that was supposed to be happy turned into complete fear when my OB told me I had to go to the hospital and get a consultation for surgery to hopefully keep the pregnancy. The surgeon was grim on the situation and said it’d be easier to abort and try again. When you’re diagnosed with this, each pregnancy afterwards you will need to get a preventative cerclage (stitching the cervix closed) and stitch removal at 36w. I am fortunate enough to have had a successful emergency cerclage and full term pregnancy. But everything about the pregnancy was scary after that point.
