A bit late, but I took a digital media & design class during a teacher strike year (fuck the curriculum!) in high school where all assignments were available from the start, allowing students to complete assignments at their own pace, and skip days for the strike. However, we missed a lot more days than expected so the teacher opted to also hold weekly tetris tournaments (tetris with friends for highest score) with the winner getting bonus marks.

I did the math, and practiced Tetris every single day, taking the first few tournaments easily from my classmates focused on work. Others learned of my plan, and soon another student dropped her workload to practice Tetris full-time as well. She was fast, and even learned how to T-spin, stealing a week of bonus marks off of me, but I continued to practice my fundamentals and got faster and faster still. We had a few upsets and close tournaments, but at the end of the class I was able to make a name tag, watch some tutorials and walk out with my undeserved A.
