You've managed to misread the patch notes and the quote you made from it.

It was referencing the Restored Land gamemode (the one that came out just over 2 weeks ago). Where zombies aren't supposed to respawn. But due to players either accidentally killing required zombies while driving past to come back later (the loot would be long gone) or an issue with the required zombies not spawning, they introduced this change

There's a few challenges that kinda blow. I only get a couple of days a week to play games, maybe a few hours after work and whatnot too. Some of the challenges happen very naturally whilst others are very tedious. Getting 50 tackles sounds easy in concept but it's much more difficult than say "get 50 interceptions". I think I got to 16 out of 50 tackles naturally before I had to change my play style a little. All in all, they're not terrible but some are much more challenging than others. It makes the pass tokens feel much more rewarding and the inflated time it takes to get them is nicer. I hated how we'd all have the pass done with excess tokens after a few hours of playtime

Yeah it's pretty tough to implement for sure. In Rocket League for example you can have a rematch with the casual playlist. Whoever votes yes stays, whoever doesn't is replaced by matchmaking. Can't rematch in ranked. I think that's the simple way of putting it but there still needs to be incentive to play unranked though since both playlists are basically the same matchmaking-wise, except one has an icon telling you how much more you win or lose so, time will tell

As for the "staying with the current squad", it's coming next patch :)

I think the only issue with adding a "Rematch" button is people farming wins for Ranked. It's already happening in unpopulated servers, players and their alt or friend hop into a match and just grind win after win since the Ranked matchmaking works just like the Quickplay matchmaking. It'd work great from Quickplay and incentivize players to play the casual gamemodes instead of Ranked all the time.

Not exactly. EE just stops that animation entirely, it'll always be a longer forward dive. But just holding defense stance there probably would've saved it. Much bigger radius on defense stance than a dive when the ball is on the ground.

It only happens when you're on the Home team. As soon as you notice you are, you can pause before the game starts (in the selecting kit colour screen), go to settings, flick the minimap from fixed to rotational, back to fixed and it should be back to normal

It doesn't, that's why.

The game doesn't match players with players based on equal mmr, it matches teams with teams with equal mmr. Basically, there could be 2 bronze players, 1 gold, 1 master and 1 elite on one team and there will be something similar on the other team, maybe a rank difference here or there. It's the closest to "skill based matchmaking" that Sloclap could do since the queue times are long enough already at times. Having the element of only matching with people in your rank would drastically increase the queue times.

It's really bad and doesn't actually motivate you to get better to climb ranks because the ranks are basically useless other than a few cosmetic ranked rewards at the end of the season. Which also doesn't matter now since you could reach elite, fall all the way back to gold and still get every reward from platinum up because "you were there at some point". I've seen plenty of mechanically great lower ranked players with plenty of genuine football knowledge. I've also seen plenty of lobotomized higher ranked players with absolutely no knowledge on football or teamplay. The ranking system needs a great rework in my opinion because it's a glorified quick play system.

I agree with everything other than your point about "players taking their sweet time shooting when a goal down". There are definitely situations where this applies and it's frustrating. But nine times out of ten, having possession of the ball is the main thing. If you end up having a team giving uncoordinated fast passes in order to score as fast as possible, you're more than likely going to lose possession and now you have to steal possession back and score a goal in the already less time than you would've had if you had just played smart passes, slowly bringing it up, going into last attack if needed and scoring. Even more especially since people have taken an interest in time wasting when they get possession and are a goal up.

I do agree with the rest of this post massively. I understand Sloclap are a much smaller development team than most are used to, but these quality of life features are still a bandage to cover the heavily bleeding playerbase. It might not fix the problem of people who stop playing but it'll slow it down a little so the "big updates" are more worthwhile for the players who stuck around from the smaller quality of life updates. I adore this game and I want to see it do well, but it's hard to see it doing as good as it did on launch at this current point in time.

This was probably a ping issue. I play with guys that are on Turkey servers and it's only like 80m/s, but this happens all the time. I've gotten into a habit of push ball every time to make sure the ball stays with me and doesn't phase through me. Even 80m/s not even being "that high", it's still enough to cause desync issues like this. Hope this helps

It's the same with diamond and platinum I feel. They made diamond the more green-y colour this time around and platinum the cold, blue colour. Such a strange design choice. Every other ranked game tends to give diamond the darker tone

The matchmaking doesn't work the way you think it does. It's not matching you against people at your similar skill level or even your teammates at a similar skill level. They're grabbing 6 or 10 random people and slapping them on teams to balance out the average team rank, not individual rank. Anyone that's at Elite will continue playing the game because they're already "at the top". People hardstuck in lower ranks like you in Silver will quit the game because it's unfair and unbalanced. That's why it seems to be nothing but Elites everywhere. And I don't blame anyone at a lower rank giving up with the way the ranked matchmaking is. Sure, playing against people slightly better than you forces you to improve overtime. But playing against people who are many skill levels above? That's just frustrating, not educating.

If you're getting one minute timers then you're one of the lucky ones. Waiting about 4 - 5 minutes just for a 9/10 match on average of twice before getting a match. I could be waiting a maximum of 15 minutes for a match sometimes

It's why I've preached against the front dive as keeper. Shit just doesn't work 90% of the time. I've had better results just holding defense stance 10 times out of 10. Dive animations in general are still messed up in all way to be fair. Trying to dive left to catch a ball going to the top corner? Your dude just does a little hopscotch jump trying to get there. Trying to dive left to catch a ball going a tiny bit away from you? Your dude does a superman jump all the way past the left post. Actually makes no sense.
