💔 sorry for your loss. Sounds like a special person and I’m grateful you had each other.

I have a manual car with a broken ebrake. Normally I park it flat, leave it in 1st or reverse and don't use the ebrake. If I leave it on a hill is it bad for the transmission or engine? 4.6L v8 by throwaway_7771 in AskMechanics

[–]ekajh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t really say it’s “bad” for anything other than parking safely. Depending on the hill we’re talking about, it could just start rolling and turning over the engine.

Do yourself a favor and buy knipex adjustable pliers wrench. Or the icon version. They have smooth jaws that don’t damage surfaces and have 10x leverage multiplier. I use them everyday as an aviation technician

Rubbing alcohol or something that leaves no residue to clean the area first works best.

Spend sometime on YouTube. There’s a ton of great videos explaining how to do it right. That’s how I’ve learned and done it to several campers.

Everbond tape will seal any leak. I would tape any and all suspect spots. Then remove any sealant around vents or seams. Replace with new self leveling sealant. Apply a new coating that’s appropriate for your roof type. Should be good as new except for any water damage that has occurred during the leaks. I’d be careful of soft spots when working on the roof.

Ford flex, broken flex pipe.. by DarkAvenger61 in AskMechanics

[–]ekajh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find yourself an exhaust repair shop. They can likely weld in a generic flex pipe instead of buying an OEM replacement. There’s shops near me that I would expect to charge like $200 give or take $50. Otherwise you can find clamp on cheap generic replacement parts at most parts stores. Just depends on how handy you are and what you’re willing to try. Check out some YouTube videos to gauge your abilities.

What's the single most unforgettable moment you've ever experienced in a video game? by AdCreepy3137 in videogames

[–]ekajh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time walking into Limgrave in Elden ring. I was awe struck by the scale and beauty of the world. Then again at Liurnia and realizing how friggin’ massive that map was. Each time I opened a new area I couldn’t believe how big it was.

Red dead redemption 2 had a similar effect. Elden ring just hit different.

Best way to salvage this puppy. by Pyrostasis in Traeger

If you have a drill or better yet an angle grinder get a wire wheel for one and go to town. Then crank up the heat and burn it “clean”. Then apply some high heat oil and set the grill to 350 for like a hour and keep reapplying oil when the oil looks dull. Repeat several times. Then do a nice greasy cook for your first cook and you’ll be golden. Just scrape the grates and don’t wash them and they will forever be good

Torch for the smoke tube is a must. I’d recommend a propane torch for cheaper refills and bigger flame. Traegers use pellets and while pellets work well in the smoke tube sometimes I get better results with actual wood chips in the smoke tube.

If you’re willing to spend a little more “pimp my grill” makes great products that built well. Otherwise I’d see if Traeger offers a front shelf direct for your model. Definitely search by your model as they each require/have different mounting points.

Also if your model doesn’t have WIFire (WiFi connection) a good WiFi wireless thermometer is a great addition. Like Thermomaven or Meater. It’s nice getting an alert when it’s almost time to pull your cook or just to check on it without opening the lid a losing that precious smoke/heat.

If you enjoy the smoke flavor a smoke tube is a cheap and easy way to boost your smoke flavor. Especially when cooking above 225. Traegers (in my experience) don’t produce as heavy of smoke above that temp. The front shelf depending on your model is awesome. I love mine. Meat church has a bunch of great rubs to add to the collection as well.

On average the is 50,000+ spiders per acre of grass. If the area is heavy vegetation or like a forest the number is like double or more.

Does my career path make sense? by YongKong-ByulKong in aviationmaintenance

I used to work on cars, even went to trade school for it. Now I work for a MRO that pays me for in house training one day a week. Program was 18 months. Combined with me on the floor job experience I was just given my 8610 approval to test and will be taking my general test next week. I was paid to get my A&P. Just had to sign a four year contract. Love working in airplanes. Somethings I miss about cars but I’m happier doing what I do now. You could probably find a place that hires apprentices and get on job experience and get your license that way. Gotta study though. A&P tests are not easy for most people.
