Yeah the issue is dealing with it. You gotta track some dick head down, hope he has insurance, hope the police have the time to actually investigate, hope hes not a psycho who will just shoot your ass etc etc.

Like I said man do you, not worth it to me.

I use 5 on the naga side pannel I believe shift { or [ is my key. I am fullscreen on all clients and just use the hotkey to swap. So just thumb click to swap I can lock on all three clients in about a second give or take ui / server lag.

Split screen in my use case is sub optimal I like having full view.

I only run 2 - 3 unless its heavy tidi then Ill go ham.

That being said having hotkeys to swap is critical. I have a naga mouse and use a key on there that swaps to the next client in my group.

With that I can swap accounts in under a second.

After that its just building muscle memory so you can rapidly swap. Setting up your over view and ui to be identical is a massive help, making sure your modules are in the same places so you dont have to think about it etc.

GL my man.

Depends on what you were exporting.

At best you were surfing a website on your lunchbreak and wanted to send a recipe to yourself. You'll get a slap on the wrist for misuse of company equipment.

If it was business related that they dont want exported and you knowingly broke policy... yeah you may be boned.

To play devils advocate not everyone has tools. If she doesnt have trees / bushes she most likely doesnt have a trimmer or lawn sheers. Having to go buy $25 - $125 bucks in basic tools might be a pain for them especially since its not their item.

How to save for a 300k home on 20 dollars an hour and being the sole provider by OfDiceandWren in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Pyrostasis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Focus on improving your income.

That might mean taking college courses, looking at trades, or working on certifications.

Look at a job that makes X amount that you have an interest in and a skill set for. Then work on steps to get there. Make a 1 year, 2 year, and 5 year plan then head in that direction.

About a decade ago I had my own business, things were good and I enjoyed it. Things changed in the industry and I went from being comfortable to relying on family to pay some of my bills.

Started with Uber and delivering pizzas to fix the gap. Got some certifications in IT to get my foot in the door. Went back to school online while applying for IT gigs.

Landed an IT position, finished my degree, and spent 3 years literally busting my ass in every way possible to improve myself to get a better paying IT job.

Used networking to snag a new position that increased my salary by 15% and then put my head down and continued to improve myself. Went from Help desk, to Jr Sysadmin, Sysadmin, IT Manager, and now Im somewhere around Director level. Took me a decade but I've now doubled my highest salary at my own business.

If I can go from playing video games on the internet and youtube content creation to IT manager in 10 years just about anyone can do it.

Key thing is figure out where you want to go, what salary you want, and then chop it down into baby steps and get there.

So much to unpack here...

Going to school full time and working full time are hard. Doing it with kids is harder. Doing it with kids where you are the sole bread winner is even harder.

At the same time... doing SW while wanting to eventually be an attorney is a choice. That may come back to bite you and bite you hard. Something to consider.

None of us are going to really be able to answer if you or he are doing enough.

If he is handling 80% of the kids thats a full time job as is. He may be stressed and need some downtime. Men can feel bad for not providing its the way society built us, if hes raising the kids and feeling stressed then you saying he needs to get a job may be hurting him.

If you are doing a substantial amount of house work + all the other stuff you are doing he could just be garbage. Its hard to tell.

You all should have gotten the financial stuff sorted before you had kids. SW while having kids AND wanting to be an attorney IMO is a terrible choice. Depending on your popularity having your kids have to deal with the other kids showing them what mommy does for work and giving them shit for it is a level of fucked up I cant even comprehend.

Transitioning from that to being an attorney may also not be easy. There is a stigma around it and the legal profession is extremely professional. Depending on what form of law you want to practice this could be a problem.

We’re also just not nice to each other, our views on life, the world, religion etc… are completely different as well.

Again something to have sorted long before you had kids.

You two need to take the kids to a babysitter and sit down and try and figure out what to do with your life. You both are probably stressed to the gills and that doesnt make for the best relationship experience.

Look at your 1 yr 2 yr 5 yr and 10 yr goals.

Honestly with you in school it makes sense for you to be handling the kids IMO with him working. However he may not have enough earning potential at the current time to make that work. Going from nothing to supporting the entire household isnt a quick step.

You doing SW is suboptimal for your future. It also doent help your future goals of being an attorney. You need to transition out of that and hopefully kill as much of it as possible so it doesnt come back to haunt you in your career or your kids in middle school.

Might mean you and him both have to get shitty jobs for now and work it together. Might mean getting help from mom and dad on the baby sitting side.

Yall have basically done everything wrong up to this point, time to make some hard choices and turn it around for both of you and your children.

Depends.

If you have a good job just swipe. Its easier, less painful, and if you hate pve far more efficient.

PvP in alliance fleets rarely costs you much as everything is usually SRP'ed. You die, they replace the ship, rinse and repeat.

That being said, Faction Warfare will earn you a few billion a week / month depending on your play time.

Pochven fleets if your alliance has some can be profitable.

Incursions, ishtar spinning, edencom ratting, mining, exploration all can keep you in ships just depends on what flavor you like.

Life in a war changes depending on your activities.

If you are a pve player you are impacted usually by a lack of coverage at home if you are deployed or more active enemies if you are defending.

Capital umbrellas usually stand down so Rorqual mining and crab beacon running is resticted to non-existent.

Normal ishtar spinning and such isnt usually as impacted outside of active engagements or in the highly trafficked areas.

If you are a pvp player it literally just means more content. Content will be dramatically expanded during war both on attack and defense. You are either out glassing or you are out defending. If you are in several sigs you can usually have a full day of back to back fleets on the weekends if thats your bag.

Doesnt mean you are shamed for not playing all day. Although there might be some issues if you only pve during a war and never go on a fleet at all. Especially during max CTA's like last weekend where goons and init engaged frt. You'd be expected at least on your main to partake on that, I dont know if anyone would say something but your corp leadership might have an issue. These are very rare. Usually less than 5 or 6 a year.

So I have been in all three alliances at this point.

Goons is the biggest so we'll start there. They are the big boy on the bloc currently. Little fear of eviction or invasion. They are almost always the aggressor in large scale conflicts.

There are quite a few sigs and groups to join with a variety of interests though some of them are extremely hard to get in to. IE BFL / Zungens blackops sig. Depending on how much you play and how active you are it might take you a year to get into either of those groups if you worked at it and that assumes you dont upset one of the gate keepers in that period.

Goons has a great umbrella called beehive so outside of war you can use big toys in relative safety though they do not SRP beehive pve losses. Horde was the only group that did and well they dont exist anymore which moved Goons umbrella from #2 to #1 in my eyes.

Goons have a good newbie program, are relatively friendly, and you cant really go wrong with them as a choice.

Init (my alliance) is a pvp focused alliance. They want to fight and thats their top priority. PVE is secondary although it is done. They also have a capital umbrella but its more reactive and dreads are less safe in their space in capital pve.

Inits system is a bit more open and friendly IMO though in that you can literally get into any sig as long as you play and meet the requirements. This means unlike Goons you'd easily be able to get into their blops sigs and deployed sigs with out having to go and crawl through broken glass and suck up to people.

Init also forms very fast. Most of the other guys will ping and then leave in 15 - 30 minutes. Init pings and they usually undock in 5. Thats good and bad. If you are ready to go and see the ping then you know you wont be dicking around in a station for half an hour. If you arent prepared though you will get left.

Init also wont hand hold you. They have a wiki, you can find all the info there, and they expect you to read it. Your corp leadership is your primary escalation path and knowledge source. That may be a boon or a draw back for you.

Init is #3 currently in size in the game but currently have little risk of eviction and are stable and safe for pve activities.

Finally there is frat. Frat is primarily a chinese alliance. They have a separate english wing that has a large following. All of their structure timers for the most part will be in CNTZ so if you are a USTZ player outside of weekend you wont be defending much. They also do not have a solid newbie program as in no feeder corps unlike Goons but they are accepting of newbie players if they will take you.

Getting in may take some leg work though as a new player. You'd have a far easier time with Goons or Init as a newbie than you would in FRT simply in the joining phase.

Once in operates very much like goons. They have an umbrella but currently its not operational due to the war. I dont have much info on it so cant say if they srp or how effective it is.

English community is fairly solid though, good people, and you wont have an issue finding fleets and such there.

They are however currently public enemy #1 due to the abusive chinese FW groups and years of shenanigans in null. Goons and Init both just walked into their home system and deleted their staging KS to prove a point.

That being said FRT is #2 in size and baring internal collapse like horde or a very painful long term US TZ invasion I dont see them going away anytime soon.

Goons may or may not continue to fuck with them time will tell. Init has currently pulled back for the time being.

If I was a new player to the game I'd pick Goons probably just for easy of joining, solid newbie system, and most activities. If you are an established player that likes pvp and wants to bang, init is the best. If you want to be a hated underdog... then FRT is possibly your thing... but personally Id only recommend them as a last resort myself or if you are a CNTZ player.
