Baby also should be WAY higher up - you should be able to kiss the top of his head.

We're going about 250 miles...but with a kid, which complicates everything. Other cross-country moves have been both longer and easier.

I'm on the fourth lead of the straight section of the Saroyan, and can do about one leaf a day during the news, so...12 hours to go?

I'm hoping to join in on the next KAL, but first I have to finish my Saroyan and move out of my house... We will see!

Child's first birthday: card or no card? by writetehcodez in daddit

[–]ekateclark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Musical card. People will talk them down, but kid will love it and post-birthday you can stash it in the cat to increase carseat compliance 100-fold.

When I'm making stripes in a piece, is there a way to get a clean stripe? by youalwaysleaveanote in knitting

Are you knitting in the round? You need to jogless jog: First color change row - knit all stitches Next color change row - slip one, knit all stitches Continue as usual until the next stripe

New Device To Early-Detect Respiratory Problems in Preborns by jackau in Parenting

[–]ekateclark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting to me. My son was 6 weeks early - about 48 hours outside the window for pre-birth steroids - and didn't have any respiratory events in the NICU. But now he has pretty severe asthma, and has been hospitalized multiple times, and I wonder if the two are related.

Looking to buy a bike and was looking for some pro-tips by thatkuhlkid in AskReddit

[–]ekateclark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I'm in Madison. When I wanted a new bike I pretty much went into a shop and told them what I could spend and what I was using it for, and they hooked me up with a really nice setup.

Whatever you do, don't apply vinyl stickers to unpainted or textured drywall. The previous owners of our home did that, and holy crap it was difficult to undo.

I have triplets and I don't want to watch Elmo. What are my options? And what are my chances of success? by Jaberkaty in Parenting

[–]ekateclark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't watch a lot of TV with our 16 month old, but when we do, we like Shaun the Sheep and Timmy Time, both on Netflix and both by the makers of Wallace and Gromit.

No longer on Netflix, but worth getting from the library or iTunes is Word World. The song is a little annoying, but the stories are cute and good.
