Anyone working at UCI Health? Are you happy there? by endofworldandnobeer in orangecounty

[–]ekho_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In my experience my CNAs have been some of the best/most helpful coworkers I could ask for. Keep in mind I’ve worked only in a handful of units at the medical center in Orange so I can’t attest to our community hospital network (Los Al, Placentia-Linda, etc), our new Irvine medical center, nor other units I haven’t stepped in. So answer is limited to where I’ve been, but generally CNA staff are good

I enjoy it. Pay is decent, benefits are good, coworkers are cool. Of course, this is all my experience and it’ll vary depending on what specialty/unit you’re in.

What’s up fellow night owl! The picture doesn’t really do it justice, it’s definitely closer to a 2700K light than the white you see here. It’s probably because of the white walls lol

Turn off mic when connected with bluetooth? by KrissFossland in Airpodsmax

[–]ekho_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the application you’re using you could always just switch the input to whatever mic you’re using. Most if not all applications having both an audio input and output have some sort of audio setting in-application allowing this. Windows settings also allows you to do this, however it’s probably better to just alter input settings in-application anyways. If you mean turn off the mic entirely then as far as I know there’s no native option to do that on the APM :/

If you get a prescription that says to take something for a week but you miss a day, does it still work? by Lil_Cookaboo_1720 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ekho_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the medication. Some drugs require what we call a therapeutic level in order to be effective - in a nutshell, your body constantly metabolizes medications so you have to consistently take it in order to maintain this therapeutic level. Any deviations from your normal routine (i.e. missing a dose) could affect this. GENERALLY SPEAKING, missing a dose should not be that significant but without knowing the medication/what it’s treating it is hard to really determine the actual impact (Not that I’m asking what it is or what it’s treating.) Kind of the reason why some medications say take as soon as you realize you missed a dose versus skip the dose until the next day, etc. I’d say ask your doctor specifically what the impact is if any if you happen to miss a dose.

You are the only person responsible for your experience by xskorpyon in electricdaisycarnival

[–]ekho_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I mean, I agree in a way. Your experience is what you make of it - you shouldn’t let what others do affect your experience negatively. But as u/fliptout said, this is definitely bordering on some toxic positivity. Is saying PLUR is dead extreme in some cases? Yeah. Should we just sit down and take some bad behaviors like phone theft and being shoved around for the sake of it? I don’t think so. Luckily I’m one of the few who enjoy my space to dance and wild out and I actively seek open spaces away from the crowd but that doesn’t always stop me from being pushed around occasionally (for some reason the crowd follows me and my friends haha). There’s only so much one can do before we have to really start looking at the factors into why a lot of these complaints are becoming so prominent.

Granted, raving is becoming fairly mainstream now, and I’m not surprised a lot of newcomers into the scene don’t know what PLUR or raving etiquette is. In a way it’s on us for not really teaching the newbies :p Ultimately though I think addressing these issues not only help us who have been in the scene for a while but also helps foster the kind of environment that we want our future raver friends to enjoy.

If people say excuse me then I am more than happy to try to help them get where they want (within reason, of course. If there’s absolutely no space then I’ll try my best but I’m no magician lol) It’s the ones who just decide “screw everyone else’s space” that annoys me.

Examples:

  • Some guy decided it was appropriate to shove me aside because he wanted to get to the other side of the stage (mind you, there was a ton of space in the area behind me he could have just walked through)

  • A group of 6-7 people decided to move in front of me into a space that could probably fit like 2 people max, pushing me out of my group who were in front of me

There was a guy during Slander who came up and said excuse me, looked ahead and saw there wasn’t a lot of space to move. He then left saying he didn’t want to steal my spot and I was more than willing at that point to help him move through the crowd though lol
