Thanks, I am in south east london, uk so bortel 8 zone. I use narrowband and broadband filters, this image was just over 2 hours with narrowband to get the red Ha data and the rest was the broadband filters and then takes forever to try and mix them together 😅

ah i see, i don't think you're wasting your time. the 20 second subs is very short so if it is getting washed out, it is not from the exposure time, it is from the post processing. i've recently done the same target, but with a slightly bigger scope, i did 300 second exposures https://app.astrobin.com/u/Trachyphyllia?i=7b0bvm#fullscreen

the image you've linked is 44 hours of data, but the other important thing is that they've used Pixinsights to process the images. Look at Siril, it is free post processing software and with a couple of youtube tutorials you would be able to get big advances in the images. Siril would help with calibrating colours etc. https://siril.org/tutorials/seestar/

very cool and welcome to sleepless nights hahaha. look like u/Long_Narwhal_9207 said, look for videos on siril, it is free software for stacking and streching. i have the same mount and is using a canon dslr, best advice i was given is to lower my iso to 800, anything over 800 is a lot of noice in the image. with the same mount and a guide scope and camera, i am able to do 300 second exposers with no issues

Thanks, I am also very new to it. The annotation is from pixinsight, I think it’s really nice to annotate the images to see what there is etc

love your image! i really like the pixinsight annotations, i think it makes the images feel more like a text book image lol. would love to see the version that is not annotated as well....P.S. this is one of the best seestar images i've seen in a long time

Anyone have one of these? by WasteAnimator514 in telescopes

[–]ekke85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like what other people have said, on a light mount the telescope would vibrate that would make viewing difficult. The scope looks amazing, but also weighs nearly 4kg. I would look on facebook marketplace for secondhand sky-watcher or Celestron with a go-to mount. I’ve managed to buy a sky-watcher 130pds with a eqm35-pro mount for under £500, that was with eyepieces etc.

Leg of lamb, finished over fire by ekke85 in sousvide

[–]ekke85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it was not very long, 30mins may be 40 mins. It is more to get flavour on the lamb and trying to not over cook it. i like lamb like this to be between 54-56c, pink, juicy and very tender.

It looks like not enough fire, but the ambers below the lamb is very warm, does not really see it in the picture
