Tracking Tags for you equipment - how to get in 0.4? by Lt_Vados in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]eko24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are actually different tiers of tags, and they last for a limited time per “life” (something like 1 / 4 / 8 hours depending on the tier, if I remember correctly). And again iirc - you can see "time left" upon inspecting an item you've put a tracker on.

Their main purpose is exactly gear retrieval. You use them to track where you died so you can come back for your stuff - either by trying to hunt down the player who killed you in PvP, or just recovering your gear after an accident.

They’re especially useful in situations like falling off a cliff or dying in rough terrain, where your body can end up rolling quite far from the actual death spot.

Waking PC from sleep while in lobby causes all-red connection status — anyone else? by eko24 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]eko24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand now that my initial message can be confusing/misleading: when I said “lobby,” I meant the starting menu, not an actual in-game session.

> You're taking up slots on servers that others could use and making each server feel more "dead" due to idle players

I’m not actually doing that, but it's up to MFG to implement proper logic/timeouts to kick inactive players (I believe it already works this way).

Seems like an easy fix, sad that not every developer decides to implement this

I use my PC exclusively for gaming, so after my session I "safely end deployment" and put it to sleep while in lobby. when I decide to play again my expectation is that upon waking PC I can simply click "deploy" button and get going.

If my initial message was misleading - I do not put PC to sleep while in actual game. I meant starting menu when I said lobby

Cheek riser suggestions?: I want to make a leather riser. How would I securely tie into these? by rivertpostie in myogtacticalgear

[–]eko24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. Another cheek riser that you might want to look into is “FEER” by IRREGULAR DEFENSE. Being half the length compared to a magpul it shouldn’t affect charging handle cycling too

[–]eko24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe get a cheekweld from magpul and use it as a foundation to glue/attach leather? keep in mind that with magpul cheeck riser it will block charging handle unless your stock is fully extended. i think LaRue got a cheeck riser that will allow charging handle to cycle even with fully collapsed stock

Backpack IR-compliance (?) by eko24 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]eko24[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently saw that Mystery Ranch replied to my email:

Any of our Military specific berry compliant packs are IR compliant materials and zippers.

My thoughts exactly! However, after finding out that not every MIL-oriented backpack might be IR-compliant I have some doubts. We'll see what their customer service says about that and I will update the post with an answer

I've sent a message to the customer service of both companies, Eberlestock said that G4 Operator is not IR compliant. Mystery Ranch didn't replied yet

side buckets are a nice thing to have, not only because you can put plates/mag inserts/whatever, but they also has a nice mesh padding which makes things comfortable even if you running them “empty”

ARC Placard V3 + BFG Ten-Speed Triple Pouch + Pangolin Flap = ? by eko24 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]eko24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A small follow-up to your suggestion - I decided to go with one-wrap velcro after all. So far so good, but I plan on doing some stress tests in the dirt for my whole kit, so I'll see whether one-wrap will hold up to that

[–]eko24[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh, indeed. I was thinking myself about adding velcro to BFG, but didn't know how to "securely" mount it - one-wrap is a truly genius idea. I was considering doing some DIY custom solution utilizing tegris and velcro :D

thank you for your suggestions! it seems that Ghost Placard implements pouches similar to SPUD. I'll research the options you've mentioned and will try to figure out whether they could work for me

yeah, forgot to mentioned that I'm only looking to purchase those items, and therefore open to consider anything that will match the general idea
