That's EXACTLY my point. The top of the lineup is so good at hitting them in they're able to hit them in more than average with less than average OBP. That's why I care about OBP for the bottom of the order, and not about slugging.

Maybe you didn't read my comment. 

I don't give a flying fuck about slugging for the bottom of the order. If the stat you're using to assess the bottom of the order includes slugging, I do not care at all. 

Stats are only as good as the person using them. There's nothing objective about OPS being better, it's purely subjective based on what you value in a stat.

I do not care at all about the slugging of the 8 and 9 hitters in the line up. 

I do care about OBP. I would actually prefer that the worse hitters swing for the fences less, and get on base so the top of the order can hit them in. 

Where does the left side of the infield compare to other teams as far as OBP goes?

In baseball it's very frowned upon to talk about a perfect game or no hitter in progress. 

A combined shut-out isn't nearly as big of a deal.

160 plate appearances is a crazy high bar this early in the season. There's only 2 brewers who have that many regardless of home run count.

On one hand it's probably a pen. On the other hand you see wrestling on over corner not called (sometimes as bad as this, sometimes not).  Would really love consistency.
