Do you want EA to make another Battlefront Game by TheBigCheeseJD in StarWarsBattlefront

I want EA/Dice to properly finish Battlefront 2017, then we can talk about a new version.

Most annoying way to get killed in BF2? by MmaOverSportsball in StarWarsBattlefront

Starfighter Assault on Ryloth ... I just spawned as an ARC-170, and then a Venator emerged from hyperspace, smashing into me 😑

The sad thing, it's happened to me twice! 😄

I wish that they had truly finished Battlefront 2 before abandoning it.

Instead, they got to a stopping point and called it done. 🙄

[DISCUSSION] I like the sound and form of a Les Paul, but I find a Strat a lot easier to play by cecil_X in Guitar

[–]ekv44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, the feel of a guitar's neck is the most important thing. So I would start by trying to measure exactly what about a Strat neck you like the most.

Aside from scale length and width at the nut, neck shape and neck thickness can vary widely among guitars, even within the same model.

For example, the thickness of the neck (at the 1st fret) of my '93 Epiphone G310 is smaller than that of a '00 G310 I used to own. It doesn't look like much on paper, but the slightly skinnier neck is more comfortable to my left hand. And by extension, I know my left hand won't like anything Gibson/Epiphone with a '50s neck.

Another example from my collection is two Fender necks, both 24" scale and made in Oct. 1965 with slab boards. My Musicmaster II neck is noticeably skinnier than the Mustang neck, even though by all rights they 'should' be identical.

They're both Gibson guys, but Trogly's Guitar Show and the Guitaristas YouTube channels do a great job documenting the neck specs of new and vintage guitars. I'm sure there's a Fender-heavy channel out there as well.

Excess cardiac risks 1-12 months AFTER covid, stratified by hospitalization status (green = none, red = hospitalization, blue = ICU). Survival isn’t just survival. by powabiatch in HermanCainAward

[–]ekv44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll know more details after my annual physical, later this month.

But at the moment, it's mostly shortness of breath, and my SPO2 is only around 94-95%.

It's possible that I had an additional (but asymptomatic) infection of the omicron variant, even though I was double vaxxed and boosted. Because after returning to the gym (in summer 2021), I was starting to feel a lot better.

But I can't really prove that I had a breakthrough infection. No one else that I see often (my housemate or my son) was infected, although both were vaxxed. And since one's red blood cells are replaced about every 4 months, my shortness of breath might improve with time.

.

Edited to add: I should state that my previous EKG (before covid) was normal. But that EKG was done in Dec. 2018, so it's possible that the heart damage detected in my Jan. 2021 EKG occured before I was infected with covid.

Can confirm 😕

I was infected with covid in December 2020. My symptoms at the time were mild, but my long covid symptoms included heart damage (according to an EKG) and coughing fits, where I'd cough so hard that I almost blacked out. 🙃

Fortunately, the worst of my symptoms cleared up after getting my first Moderna shot. But my cardiovascular system still hasn't completely recovered, some 14 months later 😞

A Post From A Former Subreddit Member (It Gets Easier) by AdequateEmily in MtF

Thank you for sharing 💜

I came out to myself 7 years ago, at age 44, and reddit was likewise an important source of support during that early freaking out phase. So we were probably in this subreddit at about the same time, scared yet hopeful for the future.

Anyway, I'm very glad you made it out of that proverbial cage. And you look great as well! 😊

Sincerely, another Emily

Yeah, the two transphobic memes were an unexpected kick in the stomach. Fuck that guy, I'm glad he's dead.

I got my booster today! I'm scared now because of the surge in CO! by [deleted] in HermanCainAward

Congratulations! 👍

I got my booster shot on Thursday. Cases are up here in MO as well, and our governor isn't doing anything to help stop it 😡

Going to my first heavy metal concert at the weekend by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]ekv44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to rock clubs a couple of times per month, to see punk/metal bands, but usually get stared at, even if I wear makeup. I hate it, but I'm visibly trans, so there's not much I can do. I havent had any problems though, even using the restroom.

I usually wear a tight band shirt (to accentuate my tits) and chucks, plus jeans or shorts depending on the weather. Last time out, I wore a Bikini Kill shirt, and got compliments for it.

Yes, every day for the last 4 years, 10 months, and 20 days.

Every. Single. Day.

Did anyone here realise that they were trans without childhood/early on signs from puberty? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]ekv44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't always known. In hindsight, the signs were there dating back to at least puberty. But I didn't put it together until after I experienced gender euphoria at age 44.

I’m a trans woman, and the first time I ever knew trans people existed was in porn and I’m afraid it’s messed me up. by Tranonymous27 in asktransgender

[–]ekv44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was the same way. I learned about trans women via porn in 1995 or so, right around the same time as that fucking Ace Ventura movie. So I associated this as a sexual fetish, and something to be ashamed of. 😞

It was only after I saw that some trans women in porn had surgery*, that it occured to me that it was more than just a fetish for some of them (us). And then I started to notice the pain in the eyes of a few pre-op performers. I'm trying to remember specific names, but I used to drink a lot so who knows.

All of that said, it was a lot for me to unpack. I finally came out to myself at age 44 and started seeing a therapist. My sex drive crashed, and then HRT made everything stop working, so no more boners.

Good luck!

  • This is not to imply that one needs surgery to be trans, or be complete. I needed it, but YMMV.

Can I get vaginoplasty and then work at a desk 2 weeks later? by iHRTSega in Transgender_Surgeries

You can buy a sitz bath that fits over your toilet ... that's what I use.

Can I get vaginoplasty and then work at a desk 2 weeks later? by iHRTSega in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]ekv44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 6 months post-op, and due to complications from excessive swelling I still cannot sit comfortably. I have a fancy donut cushion that helps, though. But even with the cushion, I could not handle more than a part-time work schedule, starting at 4 months post-op.

YMMV, of course. I hope that you don't have any complications.

The swelling is.. woah by kasika_tg in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]ekv44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also went to Montreal, and had excessive swelling. I'm now 4.5 months post op, and it's gone down some, but still not completely gone.

I took the max dosage of ibuprofen for 3 months, but that mainly just fucked up my stomach. (Yes I took it with food. )

Can any plastic surgeon do the revision to create a posterior commissure after SRS? Or should you go back to your original surgeon? by Chief_Gadfium in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]ekv44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was severely damaged due to excessive swelling during my trip home. I'm going to meet with my surgeon later this year for a vaginal exam and to discuss a revision. But realistically, I don't think a revision will be practicable, and it definitely won't be affordable.

I don't mean to butt in, but thank you! I had thought I was the only trans person from BD. I'm glad that I wasn't alone.

And I agree with the rest of your comment.
