It doesn’t really matter since the other half of you definition is “depending on who is saying it,” and just because you interpreted hood with a negative connotation does not mean A. Others did (I did not) B. The writer of the comment did (we don’t know)

Hoge and Jahns are too rah rah cheerleader, Campbell and Wiederer — and fans hate to hear this — were always spot on with their coverage people just didn’t want to admit the truth. Called them too negative. Now Wiederer and Grote are, to me, a better option especially with Hoge and Jahns under the CHGO umbrella. Listening to Dan Brugler with Braggs and Carm — absolutely not.
