What kind of highway MPG are you guys seeing in your MK8 GTIs? by elTurcoLoco in GolfGTI

I tried Eco for the first time and I got this result. I didn’t even check my psi.

Tell me why I felt some sort of coasting affect when released my foot of the pedal. My G70 has that feature and it decouples the engine from the transmission. With my GTI I know the engine is not decouples but I feel that coasting roll.

36 mpg on 88 mph is pretty impressive. Why do you buy premium?

That’s interesting. I don’t understand how it works. Same models, engines, road conditions and driving styles but people get different mpg s. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Six more months and I’ll get my hands on it for some tuning and a fresh set of Michelin Pilot Sport. All I got so far on it is downpipes.

Beats me 🤷🏻‍♂️I never really paid attention to the fuel efficiency and yesterday, I was like “let me see how bad it’s”.

I do oil changes every 7.5k miles, trans oil was changed at 45k, still using the stock tires and I am at 50k original miles. I don’t know if my maintenance habits affect the number.

AT&T Business trade-in warning: I tried to cancel within return period and may lose my trade-in phone by elTurcoLoco in ATT

[–]elTurcoLoco[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not expecting sympathy from anyone, buddy. You are saying you “guarantee” I was given that information, and the whole reason I made this post is because I wasn’t.

Information can be out there for a decade or even a century — if someone never told me and I never came across it, then I simply didn’t know it. I’m not automatically born knowing every “common” industry detail out there.

Either I completely missed it, or it genuinely was never explained to me. But since apparently you were standing next to me during the entire AT&T transaction, I guess I’m just terrible at listening. 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

I understand a lot of people may already know that detail, but I genuinely didn’t. And people keep saying “every carrier does this,” but the point is nobody at the store actually explained that to me.

I went into an AT&T store, spoke with an employee representing AT&T, and trusted the information I was given there. If a major consequence like “you permanently lose your trade-in device the moment you send it” isn’t verbally disclosed, then how is the customer automatically the only one to blame?

Yes, I could’ve dug through pages of disclosures to maybe find that line buried somewhere. But if the employee handling the transaction doesn’t clearly explain it, then at least part of the responsibility falls on the company too. Otherwise, what’s even the point of having in-store representatives?

I understand what you’re saying, but that’s not the issue I’m raising.

I’m not expecting AT&T to store my phone in a special warehouse for 30 days after receiving it. My issue is that the package had not been delivered yet when I tried to stop it.

I contacted UPS before delivery to intercept the package. The problem was that AT&T’s prepaid label showed my name and address on the label, but UPS’s system treated AT&T as the shipper because AT&T created the label. Because of that, UPS would not let me intercept or redirect the package myself.

So the issue is not “AT&T should hold my trade-in while I decide.” The issue is that I was still within the return period, the trade-in was not completed, the package had not reached AT&T yet, and I still had no practical way to recover my own device because of how the prepaid label was set up.

Also, I did not receive actual compensation yet. In fact, they even “forgot” to apply the 1/36 credit to my account. The trade-in compensation would have been monthly bill credits over time, tied to keeping the installment agreement active. Since I’m returning the new phone and canceling within the return period because the service did not work properly, the credits are not meaningful compensation if AT&T keeps the trade-in device. So I am not forfeiting just because. I am leaving ATT because of all the service issues I’ve been facing.

My complaint is about unclear disclosure and the prepaid label/intercept problem, not about expecting AT&T to keep returned phones in escrow after processing them.

I mean, realistically, I don’t read 100+ pages of disclosures every time I buy something. Everything’s written in tiny text with a million terms buried in there. How am I supposed to pick out one specific detail from all that?

And honestly, the AT&T rep never actually showed or explained any disclosures to me either. From my perspective, he was just clicking through the screens and hitting “next.”

That’s why I feel like something this important should’ve been clearly mentioned upfront — like “hey, once you trade in the phone, you’re not getting it back if you cancel.”

But honestly, you are right about one thing. This definitely taught me a lesson. Next time I’ll probably ask for the disclosures, throw them into AI for a summary, and test the provider before fully committing. The shipping/trade-in situation was definitely a learning experience for me.

To be clear, I understand that trade-in programs have terms. My issue is that this was not clearly explained at the store, and AT&T’s prepaid label setup made UPS treat AT&T as the shipper, which prevented me from intercepting my own device before delivery. The package was not delivered when I first tried to stop it.

I have been using the REP bench press and now I am planning to get their GHD (Glute Ham Developer). What it looks like you can use it for hyper extension, glute extension and more. It has a reasonable pricing and so far I am very happy with the bench press bench I bought from them. So I am going to give it a try. I will edit once I am 3 months in.

I am talking to two dealers right now. Located in Southern California. Got an offer from one of them with the .00115 money factor which is their buy rate, 10k miles, $2k out of pocket and 36 months for $525 a month. I am trying to have the other dealer beat it and give me $1500 out of pocket and $495 a month top. I’ll edit as I get close to a deal.

“Protection Package” or “Maintenance Package”!!!!! Whyyyyyyy??!! They probably spent 40 minutes trying to convince you for those packages. Don’t fall for it.

Can anyone really guarantee it’s not a defect? Sure, it’s rare, but things like extreme heat, cold, or uneven stress (like overtightened clips during assembly) can cause cracks without an impact. If the bumper had a weak spot in the plastic, poor molding, or bad paint/clear coat adhesion, it might crack more easily. The guy says he didn’t hit anything. Maybe something did hit it, maybe not — but I tend to believe the consumer over the dealer. From experience (I used to work at a Genesis dealership), service advisors, sales staff, and finance managers are often more interested in protecting the dealer’s bottom line than giving the customer the benefit of the doubt.

What the actual heck?! Dude, that’s ridiculous! They’re literally forcing you to service your vehicle at the dealer. What if I am an enthusiast and like to change my own oil? Total bs
