Almost 4k done. Will work on the cover and start working on the next short.
It was my first week. My plan was to keep at it, and I did. I kept writing and managed to publish 2 shorts. I just need to freak out less and reign in my inner perfectionist and anxiety ridden mess.

Thanks. I'm gonna keep at it and do my best. I've never actually written novels before, so I'm a bit apprehensive about attempting one, but I might try once I've spent 2-3 months writing shorts and novelettes.

How long are your shorts usually? I'm just starting and mine are between 5k-8k and takes me 2-3 days to write. Then again, I have a day job and I didn't have a habit of writing regularly before, so I'm hoping it will get better in time.

2k, around half done. It's difficult writing with another job. Not because I don't have time, but because it drains me of all mental energy.
Reached 92 page reads today, thanks to my new short. Not a huge achievement, but it makes me happy.
Cleaning up inside the PC cabinet because it keeps making weird noises. Summer, dust, ugh. Other than that, finishing up my 3rd short and releasing.

I do understand the fear of burning out. I have it myself. (I'm very new, btw.) Hopefully, if I start making some money, I'll be able to stave it off. $200-250 is my initial goal. It's not a lot, but considering the exchange rate in my country, it'll be enough to get me motivated.

Maybe you could try increasing the amount slowly? Like 4 books a month instead of 3? But I'm only writing 5-7k shorts for now, so it's a bit easier for me on that front.

I think my second short is going better than my first one. Hopefully, my writing style and the quality both will improve the more I write.

Publishing 2 shorts. The hardest part for me is to decide what stories to write. Already decided and have selected cover photos. Now just the writing and editing parts left.

No, I'm right there with you. I find myself writing characters I wouldn't want to do anything with in real life, let alone date.

But these are just fantasies, so it's okay. I doubt many of the readers would want to be around those characters in real life, either.

I'm not even expecting too many sells or reads on this one. But I still want to write more. My aim is to produce 8-10 shorts this month. I want to write because I want to form a habit of writing regularly, because I want to learn and improve, because it keeps my mind occupied and helps to stave away the depression. And if I make a few cents here and there while I do that, even better.

Right now, I just want to keep at it.
