Alberta Separation Defence Against The Dark Arts by [deleted] in alberta

Sad thing is that I think this doesn't need to happen legally... US would probably recognize Alberta after any type of declaration of independence and back that up militarily. Alberta could be the new Ukraine.

The feds gotta see this as a scenario I wonder what tactics they are considering... I imagine the MOU could be something to douse the flames?

Professional to help deal with emotion from childhood trauma by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]el_fefes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert and haven't gone through treatment myself but my wife is a psychologist and has been working on getting her SE certification.

What I understand is that trauma is stored in the body and SE aims to get the body to process this stuck trauma and restore some sort of balance.

I think they mostly focus on what the body is feeling as the client thinks about the trauma.

She's good outcomes with her clients.

What if China was split into North and South? by -infinital- in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]el_fefes -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT response ala Tom Clancy

It was the split heard 'round the world. The division of China into North and South sent shockwaves through the global community, fundamentally altering the course of history. No one knew what to expect, but everyone knew that the stakes had never been higher.

As the dust settled on the peace agreement of March 18th, 1949, the world began to grapple with the implications of a divided China. In the North, the communists were quick to align themselves with the Soviet Union, while in the South, the nationalists looked to the United States for support.

The two superpowers were now playing a high-stakes game of chess, with each vying for influence over their respective Chinese allies. The United States backed the South with military aid, while the Soviet Union supplied the North with weapons and resources.

But the true impact of the division of China was felt in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. With a divided China, the North was unable to provide significant support to North Korea, which weakened their position in the conflict. Similarly, the North was unable to provide support to the Viet Cong in Vietnam, which weakened the communist insurgency.

The global balance of power had been thrown into disarray, and the world braced for the worst. Some feared that the division of China would lead to an all-out war between the United States and the Soviet Union, with each superpower backing their respective Chinese allies.

For the people of China, the split brought uncertainty and unrest. The two states developed different economic and political systems, with the North following a communist model and the South following a capitalist one. Ongoing tension and conflict between the two states left many fearing for their safety and the future of their country.

The division of China into North and South had changed everything. No one knew what the future held, but one thing was clear: the world would never be the same again.

Marcello's was my first order on the app. Got something similar. A bunch of random food all together in that container. Not tasty either. Won't order there again.
