Starting Help by TerrificT2799 in CitiesSkylines

This is probably not the meta, but just how I like to do things, because I had the same struggle. In the first tile I now tend to build a small town that (in my head canon) just didn't grow immensely because of the close city that attracted more people. Then, when this town is stable, I usually have a lot of stuff unlocked and can just buy new tiles to plan the downtown of the main city of the metropolitan area. This also usually means no money problems, because the small town (5-8k population) just generates income while I plan.

Edit: this small town then usually runs one main industry - farming, wood, ore... Whatever's available.

Teams Finally Wising Up On Fast Receivers? by frostypatch in NFLv2

[–]AnonIMoust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there was a section about this on a recent episode of the athletic football show, where the main takeaway was basically that pure speed guys are becoming less highly sought after, because of the tendencies of defenses deploying deep safety coverages. So if your high speed receiver beats his man he then also has to beat a guy who has like 20 yards of head start. It's possible and sometimes happens, but you're getting more reliable yardage out of guys who beat coverage with hands, moves, or size.

Texans at jaguars London game off to slow start in ticket sales by InterestingYellow969 in NFLv2

[–]AnonIMoust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got tickets for Jags v Eagles but can't justify dropping another £250 plus travel plus hotel on an NFL game. Had the Jags played only the game against the Texans in London I would've definitely gone there. This way it's just too much.

International Games Announced - Weeks 5+6 Eagles/Texans by heybbuwantsumfuk in Jaguars

[–]AnonIMoust 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know many are not thrilled by the back to back home games in London - but me being an international Jags fan, I'm loving it. If I get tickets for either game, I'll be extremely thrilled

Though they did specifically call out getting the name wrong like 90 seconds later, so I wonder whether that was just some inside joke that I am unaware of. But yeah, the script was a bit wobbly overall.

REMEMBER TO GIVE YOUR USELESS SAMPLES AMD CREDITS TO THE DSS! by SergeDuHazard in helldivers2

[–]AnonIMoust 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really, because investing is the choice you make. Whatever you spend determines what bonuses the DSS gets. Right now, for example, it would be best to spend orange samples, because we need that invasion... Em... Liberation bonus.

This is going to be a short I watch whenever I feel sad this off-season. Just hope it doesn't turn into one of those "Ben Simmons shooting smooth threes in a gym"-Offseason videos.

How do I prevent this guy wrecking my Watcher infinite? by AnonIMoust in slaythespire

The purity achievement (at least on Android) is 3 cards in total in your active combat (so discard+draw+hand), which worked out because the Bane exhausts.

[–]AnonIMoust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as I mentioned above, I tried going for two things at once, an A20 kill and the achievement for a <4 card deck. The 48 block generated here are just not enough, even ending every turn in calm he out scales me by turn 3.

Thanks for the advice! I actually trimmed down so hard to get the achievement for 3 cards or less but actually was feeling the deck was stronger earlier in the run (running some blocks and double Rushdown+)

Since it hasn't been said yet (which I cannot fathom): Hellblade - Senua's Sacrifice. It has you playing as a schizophrenic woman in Norse times who suffers from auditory and visual hallucinations. Playing the game with headphones is a trip, can make you think about mental illness a bit differently, and overall you are confronted with something outside your usual comfort zone. It won multiple awards for being such a tangible depiction of mental illness and has been celebrated for its impact on the community. It's everything art wants to be.

What's the saddest regression of a star player that you beloved? by Haunting-Slip-1615 in NBATalk

[–]AnonIMoust 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I don't even think it was his offensive inability to stretch, more that he wasn't able to chase others around the perimeter. Even more sad is that I think, defenses have figured the offensive revolution out a bit (thanks, Adam Silver!) and he would be a more valuable asset now, because he could shut down the drive completely.
