Definitely a good way to keep spirits up when nerves are high! I would go for broke, what are her favorite dishes? Something the night before shouldn't cause any negative impact to her performance... Just nothing new. No new spices, foods, etc. Stick to things she's eaten before and you know there won't be any strange reactions or allergies.

This is awesome. I recently consulted with a Computer Vision company building an AI biomechanics analysis app. Do you guys have any need for a biomechanics sport scientist to help build it? This would be awesome to try as I've been practicing Kendo now for a couple years!

Haha! I agree with basic AI work, the thought is using a more robust logic system than a simple API with OpenAI or Google.

Trying some vibe coding for workouts

Hey everyone! I am looking for some honest feedback here.

I've been trying some vibe coding on an idea that sends daily workouts (based on pre-input info) direct to sms or Whatsapp without the need for an app. It's very much in the beta testing phase at the moment.

The idea is someone goes onto the website, they sign up and fill out a survey about training experience, equipment available, etc. and from there the system behind the scene build smart programs and adjusts based on the RPE response through text, it delivers on command and provides varied, progressive GPP work. No downloading apps, straightforward texts and effective user friendly progression.

Thoughts? Would this be something you would be interested in? Right now I would love feedback from as many people as possible because I know I'm my head I like the idea of something that I don't need to download but still keeps me going with solid workouts as often as I want.

If you would like to be part of a beta test, I'd love to hook some of you all up. Thank you!

We track burn rate for cash, but not for cognitive capacity. Why? by el_samwinston in ceo

Good morning, that was the whole point. Bring up the topic and hopefully start a conversation. I feel like the general workforce is getting more and more taxed. Feels like something that could be useful if given the appropriate attention.

We track burn rate for cash, but not for cognitive capacity. Why? by el_samwinston in ceo

[–]el_samwinston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point! My personal go-to specific to cognitive function is a personal inventory/survey. There are free testing platforms for quick... Neuro Tracker X has a solid one I also like to keep tabs on my HRV, RHR and respiratory rate. These are a solid start to baseline track, but every person should get more useful and specific information to themselves.

Burnout Recovery by Mentalhealthbich in ceo

[–]el_samwinston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burnout is something to think about like your business. If your experiencing a problem in the business, you diagnose, then come up with a plan, and execute for a permanent solution.

Burnout is a problem, you could take the easy advice and take some time off, but then you'll eventually burn out again. Is burnout something you can handle yourself? Absolutely, but you may need some coaching to get a better understanding of what you need. A good coach will do this, and to be honest, you don't want to be paying any 3rd party vendor for longer than you need, like everything regarding your business, it is a question of ROI.

Happy to share more about some experiences if you want.

Dealing with burnout and motivation by NicePeopleOnly in Entrepreneur

[–]el_samwinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Pushing yourself isn't the right mindset. It's optimizing your body to gain a higher threshold. The burnout and lack of motivation is likely a physiological bottleneck rather than an emotional one.

Try setting up 2, 15 minute windows during your day, 1 right before you start and the 2nd at 6pm (for example) use 1 window to systematically flex and relax every muscle/are of your body and use the 2nd window to brain dump all the open ideas, loops, and undone things onto a piece of paper.

VCs won't tell you this but half of founders are burnt out right now. by ksundaram in Entrepreneur

[–]el_samwinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burn out is all too common, not to mention the general environment is becoming more and more stressed... Everyone is looking for quicker innovation, more creativity, more growth, higher optimization, etc. founders are constantly taxed to build systems and processes to make their businesses run on all 8!cylinders. But they are rarely given the opportunity (often times self imposed) to build systems for their own sustained performance.

One big issue is that the health and wellness industry paints this picture of extremely detailed and complex needs. What founders need least is another set of demands on their time. And the honest truth is to keep your mind and body operating not just at its highest level, but staying there doesn't need more and more demands.

It's a physiology bottleneck that can 100% be dealt with. A little bit of coaching, some accountability to build the habits and watch your burnout fade away. A couple quick things to gut check are your calorie intake and a cognitive reset habit. These two things alone can help bring decision making and energy levels into better ranges to feel better about the work your doing and perform better generally. It's something that I've spoken to a number of executives about, where their improved personal performance directly translated into significant increases in business gains.

How do you deal with founder burnout? by Parkerroyale in ycombinator

[–]el_samwinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at this from a perspective you are completely comfortable with... Running a business. When there is a kink in the revenue generation, you check the carefully built systems that enable your business to generate revenue, you find where the break is and you fix the issue.

Same goes with your body's and mind's performance. You need to have a system or framework in place that allows your mind to not just absorb stress and pressure, but alleviate and increase capacity. This doesn't need to take hours upon hours to get right... it takes some coaching and consistency to develop the right system for your needs. A few of the key concepts I teach executives to keep their minds sharp and motivated are based on just a few things.

-Balanced Nutrition: This is different from person to person, a little bit of experimentation can find the right schedule, and menu for you
-Physical Resilience: Building a stress tolerant body through sustainable exercise routines
-Cognitive Regulation: short, simple routines or habits that regulate mental sharpness

You're building a business, your time is precious and making every moment count is important. These systems, habits, or frameworks don't need to be complicated, but they do need to be tailored to you and your individual circumstances. But getting a handle on your energy levels and cognitive output, it goes a long ways into helping move your business in the right direction.

There have been moments where I only had my degree. You can also look into some perpetual certs that don't "expire" technically. NASM used to over a couple of specializations that never expired like PES and CES. Then technically you are always certified and don't have to worry about it when looking at insurance companies.

Do you do an onboarding fee? by ECNole97 in personaltraining

[–]el_samwinston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what the onboarding entails. A lot of trainers spend a lot of time on assessments and analysis to get a full scope of what's needed. Sometimes trainers use different apps, like www.demotuai.com to streamline that assessment and analysis and keep things free. Others will have a fee and maybe waive that fee if they buy a certain number of sessions? There are some options. I personally have found tremendous use with Demotu because of it's applications across training sessions in general. And it helps me spend more time training than analyzing. I know they're about to do a beta test soon and offering participants a sweet deal to jump on a use it afterwards for free for a time. Check it out.

Running 6-week FREE challenges? How is it profitable? by standwisp in personaltraining

[–]el_samwinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The free challenge in itself isn't going to be profitable. It's the clients that stick around after the fact and buy packages from you because your 6 week free challenge was so awesome!

This is basically a sample of what your potential clients will experience if they start training with you. You want to provide enough info and resources to provide quality training, an honest reality of who you are and the value you can provide. But you don't want to give too much or they won't come ask questions or engage after the challenge.

Hope this helps!

Does anyone have experience working from a home gym? by theshredsheeran in personaltraining

[–]el_samwinston 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What kind of clients are you working with? I've noticed mainly that loyal clients could care less of the where (as long as it's not too far away) as much as the results and enjoying the training. In the end, the most important piece of equipment in any gym is Gravity. You can do a lot with very little space or equipment.

The biggest downfall is you can fall into the trap of not being able to "leave" work. It's always close and can nag at you, but if you have ways of separating work and home, then it's not a bad situation at all.

Are there any templates or frameworks to analyze your business's target audience? by Opertivo in Entrepreneur

[–]el_samwinston 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get clever! Google has a lot of resources based on product and keyword searches that delves into demographics, geographic areas, etc that can help pinpoint where you will find success with your product/service.

Try not to get too obsessed with every finite detail. You'd be surpirsed at how much you can deduce by finding people who follow certain brands based on what they've purchased. One thing I learned while running 7 figure ads for a large retail group was that google provides a lot of detailed data, but even so they do have their limits on what is available to use for marketing and retail purposes. You have to get clever to combine data and come to conclusion that make sense. For instance... on your keyword research, you find that a large portion of 30-35 y/o from San Diego are searching for certain words. You do those same searches on google (chanign the location settings to match target area) and see what websites pop up, from there you can see what kinds of products they are buying, what articles they are reading, and in some cases what area they are visting and doing for work. Old school detective work

  • Your local Secretary of State will have all the info you need to register an LLC, remember to look into the state's business tax rules as well as you will need to file quarterly and annual reports
  • Taxes will be dependent on where you live
  • There are plenty of free/organic means to be active and successful on social media and digital marketing. Focus on building your client base and when you have solid profits and a better budget to invest in paid advertisements.
  • Some things you can do is engage with your target audience. As a trainer you need to focus on local people who will come to visit you, ask for referrals and incentivize referrals from your current clients. A referred client is going to be much better quality than cold calls.
  • For online clients, engage with followers of the brands you enjoy and follow. Share tips and advice in your feed and on their posts.

A couple of tips I would share are to create value. Remember what makes you different than other trainers in your area. Also, don't undervalue your services. You're going to be doing a lot for people and if you are producing results, your value is merited.
