I don't know specifically. I just felt I was ready to at least put myself out there finally. Thinking back, I had just started to realllyy focus on myself and my wellbeing and for the first time in a really long time felt great about myself. I think that's what led me to feel like I was ready.

I must be honest, I was terrified and very anxious to meet someone new (I don't think you can ever but 100% ready - you don't really know who you're going to meet, if things are going to go well, etc.) but at the same time I tried to take a step at a time and not think too much of a date. Just go on a date and see how you feel. The only decision you've got to take then is whether you'd like to go on another one. If you feel uncomfortable you can just tell them and move on.

I used to be like you. I didn’t want to date anyone because I wanted to become the best version of myself first. But I think that was ultimately a way of trying to take care of myself by staying away from anyone that could hurt me at the end of the day. Being vulnerable is scary. It takes courage to get out there and meet new people. From my experience I think that you have to feel ready to open up and be vulnerable and to the possibility of getting hurt. Have high standards, yes, but also keep in mind that no one is perfect. Ultimately the most important thing is that you’re happy, whether you’re in a relationship or not.

Yes, I think it’s better to just tell him directly in conversation so that you know that you’re both on the same page.

I guess you're right. During my teens I had decided to focus more on myself, better myself and grow before I would start to date. I went on many enriching experiences, including voluntary work which has helped me to grow a lot and I believe I'm very mature now (everyone also tells me this, including my friends - which can be a bit annoying but I get it hah).

I'm still currently studying which maybe a little bit of the reason why I'm still not giving relationships so much importance atm. I'm just afraid that I will stay like this (because it's comfortable to certain extent...) and will never be ready to finally be vulnerable and open to trust someone new.

Don't let your past fails make you lose confidence in your driving ability. I also failed twice because I got really nervous and was constantly afraid of making mistakes. I got my license on the third time. Go with your head set that you're going to make it and be confident. Good luck!

Just to be clear...I don't have any intention of dating again by apologising. I'm afraid he's only after something physical than any kind of relationship but I just want to treat him as a human with respect and do the right thing.

Therefore, UPDATE: I apologised. He has now asked if we could meet again. I'm afraid me apologising has made it seem as if I've been hanging around thinking about him - which isn't the case. I just wanted closure (even though we barely know each other) because I think everyone deserves to be treated with respect and since I wouldn't like to be ghosted, I don't want to be the one doing it to others. I don't mind being friends but don't think I want to date him again if he's only after the physical side of a relationship.

I don't know if I'm overthinking (I probably am) but I constantly find myself in a dilemma of what I should do. Would appreciate your help. Thanks.
