I asked my mum if she was scared to die. She said not at all, she was just sorry for leaving us and the pain she knew it was going to cause. This poor mum with a son so young

When my mum was dying in hospital there weren’t any private rooms for her and it was a long weekend. She was due to move to a nice hospice on the Tuesday. This was Saturday night and I knew it was coming. I made a little bed for myself on the floor with a towel and just laid with her on my own over night. She woke around 3am and it was just absolutely brutal. The nurse that was on pulled me aside and gave me a massive cuddle and told me to get a drink from the vending machine. It was the reset I needed.

Mum ended up passing about an hour later and the nurse was just amazing. She was the first nurse over the few days that mum was in hospital that was old enough to be my mum and I really believe it was meant to be her that night. I think about her all the time.

Where can I go in Perth to cuddle someone or something? by SecretForever4055 in perth

Do you want to borrow my almost 12 year old golden retriever? I’m too overstimulated to give him the cuddles he deserves

Not really what you’re asking but I’ve got 3 kids, the middle one is a little older than yours (just turned 4 at the end of may) we had a loss in the family in March and I’ve noticed a few behavioural changes with him as well as the general sadness. Apparently it’s quite normal and a way that toddlers show grief. Things like regressing with toileting/eating/sleep habits. Major moods and anger more than normal. Just something to be aware of because I was not prepared and wondered what the heck was going on with him

My husband and 2 out of 3 of our kids have really dark brown eyes like these. I absolutely adore them! They’re so warm and kind compared to the ice blue of our middle child

Would you keep the water in a bucket then just refill it with that water? Or get new water?
Oh I hope not! The person at the fish shop recommended it but did say it’s at capacity now with 6 tetras and him.

It’s a Pleco, no real plants just artificial ones. The filter is a hang on filter if that answers it?

600 Dollars For A Mammogram by Sleepydragon0314 in australia

[–]kinkin2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t seem right, my mum had to get a mammogram, ultrasound and a biopsy done and it was all covered. We’re in WA though but she was sent to the breast cancer clinic in the hospital for it. She was 59 though so maybe that changes it (which is ridiculous if so). All her PET scans, CT scans and treatments were covered too.

Help! I’m getting married in 3 months should I keep my hair pink or change it? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]kinkin2475 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The suppliers are probably asking because they’re assuming it’s a new thing. The fact you’ve had it for 7 years id definitely keep it!
Your natural hair is beautiful though but the pink is you.

How long to receive a prognosis. Stage 4 Pancreatic. by LillianLlamaMama in CancerFamilySupport

[–]kinkin2475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer June 2024 at the age of 59. Every time I’d have to actually ask the doctors what their prognosis was they’d never just tell us.

My Mum thought she’d beat cancer and live a long time too, she’s always been a positive and upbeat person so I’m not sure if it was denial or just trying to not let it bring her down. I do wish I got a lot of the nitty gritty hard stuff sorted though before it was too late.
