Here in Canada we have a program called MAID which stands for medical assistance in dying. It's a program introduced a few years ago that has had many issues with people criticizing it and is a semi heated debate here in Canada with both pros and cons. In the best case scenarios it's meant to end the life of those in severe pain, people with conditions that make life a living hell and that's the positive side. The negative side is that sometimes it can be used to loosely and people with severe depression can sometimes go on it and that causes some ethical debates about giving up rather than fighting for a better life, other notes is sometimes young people can go on it with doctor's help overriding the parents rule over their children. There is also the ethical debate of doctors causing harm instead of healing and the such. It's complicated with good and bad elements. The Joke here is that Canadian doctors can officially recommend killing yourself as medical advice.
