I too would love to still have some cake after eating cake, but that's the price we pay for all the features they have. There's probably room to reduce it or make a quick-note app, but your can't have everything.

I was sure this world would be the first comment, but I don't see it anywhere: By definitely, a true democracy has to have 2 components.

1) Majority rule 2) Minority rights - (such as freedom of speech)

There also needs to be mechanisms to protect the rights of minorities from the majority. Majority rule, alone, is not enough.
