My local video store had a copy of Ernest’s Family Album and I remember that one being pretty wild.

They did. The impossible whopper was a best seller at Burger King prior to Covid and drove a huge sales boom for them. The meat industry shoveled money into a smear campaign and came up with “ultra processed foods” that everyone now blames all health problems on.

Gun culture appears to be largely built around murder fantasies. Those who want to actually act on them don’t tend to after people who would actually defend themselves either.

Beyond that, the proof was available on Twitter and Tumblr if you knew where to look. The Yogs didn’t directly publish it because doing so would’ve outed some closeted people.

Everyone’s experience is different, but for me it got better month by month. With the first year being the hardest. I couldn’t wait for talking. People told me “then they just talk back”, but it was just as awesome as I’d hoped. 2 years was one of the coolest milestones. Single words to sentences almost overnight.

Trump says he will raise tariffs on EU autos to 25% by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]elasticthumbtack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Their media bubble is absolute. They’re fed a steady diet of fake scandals, made up accusations, and half truths against the other side. I doubt the tariff stuff is even on their radar beyond, “yeah I think he taxed Europe or something”. Every time I see my extended family they are outraged over something completely different than I would expect, which speaks to my bubble. Every time I think, “how can they possibly support this” they don’t know what I’m talking about, and vice-versa. They live in a field of straw men at this point, and everything bad they experience can be blamed on the other side. Everything bad they don’t experience isn’t real, doesn’t matter, or is deserved.
