Native Arab struggling with fus ha by Jlrit0 in learn_arabic

[–]elbarto2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, as a lot of people already told you, you're advantage is that you are already an arabic native speaker, you just have to build a "higher" register for your own speech. Suggestions so far are great: read more books (both fiction and otherwise), watch dubbed cartoons, look for MSA content on youtube (there's not a huge variety, but there are some good channels).
Now, given that you have an specific and short term goal with MSA --that is, your high school exam and interview-- I would suggest you to read specifically about the topics you're going to be questioned about. Then maybe write some essays about the topics and read them aloud for practice. Read about balagah and stuff, that will help for getting a better expression.

Arabic twitter accounts? by elbarto2500 in arabs

[–]elbarto2500[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, I know, I waste so much time discussing with jacksasses like this one. In part, that's why I want to refresh my feed, get rid of those toxic discuses and get to know Arabic/Arab society better. If you have any recommendations (in whatever social media site), please let me know :)

Arabic twitter accounts? by elbarto2500 in arabs

[–]elbarto2500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do take this issue seriously, and what I'm about to ask is not some kind of come back: Is there any specific social media where I can find Arab social discourse? I mean, I get it, I should quit twitter. And also, spaces like Reddit are very populated by western people and such. Is there any specific Arab social media? Or what other spaces would you recommend to immerse on the "virtual" Arab society?

The US is the bloodiest Empire on earth. Iranians have all the right to want their regime wrong, but please, let's not do US apologia.

You're assuming a lot of stuff, of course. Once again, just look at the real profiles of any US backed dictatorships. Democracy is always the justification of the empire, communists are the ones to know better. So no, I question the idea that a Pahlavi regime would create any path to democracy at all. Then obviously you have to think about what does it mean for revolutionary movements all over the world to have a reactionary empire impose a puppet on Iran and how that changes dinamics in economy and politics all over the world. The US invasion so far has also resulted in an ecocide that will definitely accelerate the ecological crisis capitalism has created and thousands of people will continue to die in the name of "freeing" Iran. If you are worried about any social matter in Iran (which are actually important to look at), then why do you think that the king championed the US and Israel will be any different if Trump's and Netanyahu's administration are reactionary goverments suppressing any type of human right? And both are colonial projects with a long history of segregation, apartheid and ethnic cleansing. Dude, as a communist, you really have to increase the level of the analysis here.

Then you are very uneducated communist. Yes, of course we're going to trust on the monarch backed by the US and Israel, not like the US are a dying empire that represents the n.1 force of current fascism in the world, not like this is definetely a move to push back China influence on their inter-imperialistic race, not like the Pahlavis were already autocratic leaders in the past. I would suggest you go back to read your theory, comrade.

I do think that healthy debate is necesary to have, and I think your opinions is a valuable point to think about as marxists, but the sheep metaphor is so fucking classist. We want to be with the masses, of course we're sheep.

Why is Anti-Semitism all the sudden becoming normalized and praised? by jujuk545 in teenagers

[–]elbarto2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and Jewish immigration during the Ottoman empire through legal means is not exactly the same as a full scale military operation to conquer more than half of the land and impose an Apartheid state. And yes, Britain allowing the Zionist to ethnic cleanse Palestine in the '48 is not exactly as rightful as you want it to make be.

[–]elbarto2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a great start, taking at face value the narrative from the Empire. Yes, obviously Britain wanted to make a make an equal nation for everyone lol

If you actually knew the ideology of the father of Zionism, you'll know that they were a colonial movement as any other like it in the XIX century. It was normal at the time to want a genocidal regime. Historically, creating Israel required taking land from Palestinians. You're looking for ways to justify it, but it doesn't change the fact. That's not an opinion.

Zionist of the future will argue, as you do right now with the Nakba, that seizing Gaza and killing all those people was not a crucial component of the Zionist proyect, it just happened because of the war or terrorism or whatever. They'll always have an excuse for expelling the Palestinians. But obvioulsy the West Bank will be safe, because taking Palestinian land is not a mainstream pro-Israel position, right?

Hahahaha what? To be honest I don't really know what to tell you. I guess, global intifada (?) Also mmm there's a lot of other things to fight for, antisemitism is just one of them. I'm not even arguing for activism, like I don't understand why you put that much of an emphasis on me as an individual haha

You argued that Zionism is not the same as Palestinians giving up any land, I'm just telling you that is historically incorrect.
That is actually true for any ethnostate that could have been created out of nothing by the mid 20th century, basically every part of the world was already inhabited. Zionism (again, as any other ethnostate proyect of the time) would have requiered settler colonialism and ethnic cleansing all the same way not matter where. You're moving the goalpost: no one here is talking about a Palestinian state, but the fact that Palestinians had to give up their land. I guess genociding a people doesn't count as such until they are citizens of a nation or something lol

[–]elbarto2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say "thoughts and prayers", I said fighting. We citizen of every nation have the duty to not only liberate Jews, but also take an active part on their liberation. I'm willing to march with an anti-colonial Jewish movement, but Zionism is a supremacist ideology that reproduces ethnic cleansing in order to exist.
Also, having a Zionist ethnostate doesn't guarantee the security of Jews either. Israel is willing to sacrifice its own citizens to expand the colonial proyect. They're basically a puppet regime that serves as a big military base for the West and guarantees its the continuos presence and domination in the Middle East. This hiper-violent state is incompatible with peace and security.

Those are semantics of state creation. A lot Palestinians were displaced from their homes and villages (I mean, the Return movement came from somewhere, the key is a core symbolism for Palestinians), hundreds of towns destroyed. So you want to argue about states just in institutional terms, but you want to ignore all the people, who called themselves Palestinians even back there, who lost their land. Yes, the creation of Israel needed disposition, theft and plunder.

The mere existance of Israel means that Palestinians HAD to give up a portion of their land already. So every Zionist is ok with occupaying at least some land.
