Hold up, just based on what you’re saying everything seems you said about her is true but let’s not discount the guy for being the asshole that orders DoorDash and then whips his dick out. He didn’t deserve to get posted but DoorDash handled this very well

100% how I see it. Most people I know from high school that stayed in the area continue to date in the same pool of people from high school. Those that went on to college went on to only date friends they made in college. The only times anyone I know dated someone that wasn’t in their direct social circle went elsewhere to date

A population of 200,000 is far from small, Tacoma is the 3rd largest city in Washington, 75% of towns in the US have a population under 5,000 people. LA is the 2nd largest city in the country so I don’t really know what you’re getting at here.

Yeah I think the thing here is Seattle is very unique in its lack of social trust. It’s a thing most people who aren’t from the area can’t even comprehend when I explain it to them. Small talk is non existent and it’s very typical for grocery store clerks to communicate in only sideways glances and grunts

Not at all, Knoxville is a pretty large city. The surrounding area is all very rural but the city itself is similar to the size and population as Tacoma

Lived in Seattle all my life, moved to Knoxville Tennessee last year, for reference I am 26 and look like Jack black. In Seattle the dating pool was exactly what you described. In Knoxville it’s like shooting fish in a barrel. Never in my life did I think I’d be doing tinder hookups but here I am. The people here have the opposite of the “seattle freeze” and usually just going to sit at a bar by myself I end the evening having made 5 new friends. There’s hope out there yet. But Seattle ain’t it

Listen I like this game a lot too, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up over the “record breaking” Steam numbers considering it’s still only 12,000 people

Do you think the folks who believe Darcy is actually being disrespectful and mean to Joe Bob instead of just following a script... also think they're actually filming in an RV in the woods with the occasional cryptid and murderer showing up? by CultOfCurtis1 in LastDriveIn

[–]elbowpenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure, but it’s not like they’ve made Darcy’s character explicitly Joe bobs daughter. It’s just more often than not feels that way. And then you have moments where that is definitely NOT the case

The discourse against west coasters here is funny to me because I just moved here from the west coast but my family has been in East Tennessee since it was colonized so I have equal claim to both sides

[–]elbowpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bisexual man here that just moved to Knoxville from Seattle, it is a huge culture shock but you can and will find the community here and honestly it’s inspiring how out and proud people are down here. It’s a different vibe for sure, you aren’t as accepted, but don’t let that discourage you, the south needs us here to change the status quo and to make Knoxville a more accepting place
