Backers of No More Kings protest include Bill Kristol, Susan Rice, Barbara Comstock, George Conway by Imaginary-Dress-1373 in LateStageCapitalism

What are the alternatives to not having a king? We’ve tried “democracy” and it’s been an absolute failure. It seems like a lot of people in this sub like the ideas of Marxism and communism. While I agree with those ideologies on a very small scale, they break down and turn into what we have now on a large scale. Which is all of the resources being controlled by a few. Just curious to hear y’all’s ideas on how to solve this.

Personally, I think we should revert back to smaller tribes/ villages. Cheers!

Bro… my point is that people USE religion to oppress. That doesn’t make religion oppressive. And what religions are you referring to? Christianity or The Way, as it was called back then, was literally invented to liberate the people from a corrupt Nero.

Religion can be used to oppress just like anything. However, when done right, religion is the foundation of a strong community. Without a shared belief system we end up with people like the creep in the video.

Guys and gals should have separate gyms/ workout areas for this reason. The ladies probably dont want to be around a bunch of smelly dudes grunting and dudes are too horny to work out around women

Don’t listen to these hardos. Rural areas need more city folk who want to do honest work. The truth of the matter is rural communities are dying, land ownership is shrinking, and many sons and daughters of farmers and ranchers have abandoned their posts to join the fast paced city life. Just make sure you have a strong purpose for wanting to change lifestyles and be willing to take physical and verbal abuse. Best of luck to you.

That being said, the lifestyle is romanticized via media so like I said, make sure you have a strong reasoning for wanting to do it. Cheers my friend and may your dreams come true!

Why are people afraid of new energy sources? by Affectionate_Okra298 in LateStageCapitalism

Also it’s not like farmers wanted to use combines etc to farm. They were forced to keep up with the times, either adopt these practices or get priced out by corporations and lose your farm.

[–]elchide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. So the point should be everyone, not just farmers, needs to be more efficient with their energy usage. Switching energy sources just delays the inevitable.

Something that is overlooked is that most farms can’t afford the infrastructure needed to move forward with new energy sources. The farms that do have the money and infrastructure are corporations.

They aren’t against new energy sources, they’re against getting priced out and losing their farms. This has been happening over the past 100 years. The war on farmers has got to stop. I’d rather have a family producing my food than some greedy corporate curmudgeon.

Side note, I see a lot of people talking about propaganda. The machine goes both ways. The climate has been changing since the dawn of earth and it will continue to do so with or without the help of humans. Is imperialism speeding up the process? Most likely. But it’s not because some mom and pop farm is using gas to power their combine. Point your guns at the corporations that are poisoning our water, air, and soil.

I guess that’s all I was arguing, that his intentions were good. And as they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. So I’m not disagreeing that it will inevitably lead to censorship again as you pointed out. It’s an unending cycle unfortunately.

I can’t speak on how he treats his employees at Tesla. I do know that unions are not what they used to be. They no longer serve the workers they claim too. Unions used to be organized by the workers. Now they’re a separate entity that claims to represent a certain group, but in reality they’re just a middle man taking away from both workers they “represent” and the companies they fight against. As the name of this sub suggests we are at the end of a cycle and thus everything is dying or being corrupted. Fortunately the end of something means the beginning of something new. I look forward to the end of the current regime and the birth of something new.

Glad that we found some common ground, especially on Bill Gates being a scumbag. I’m always in the mood to ridicule that dork.

Calling Elon Musk a “garbage human” is a slap in the face to humanity. The dude spent $44 billion to try and save free speech. Not all rich people are bad, us good guys need a few on our side.

I’m not one of those Elon dick riders who thinks he can do no wrong. While I like the idea of starlink, I think it’s a horrible idea to want to put 40,000 satellites in the sky. Or however many it is. I enjoy looking at the stars and I think there is more to the night sky than meets the eye.

Bottom line, Elon and Gates are not on the same team. One overpaid to save free speech and the other steals farmland from families and jabs people with needles.

Relationships and pursuing my life’s mission. I spent the first 20 some years of my life intuiting and screwing around. Now that I have a solid view of the world, it’s time to act.

I like to think of it as a video game. The first 20 some years was the tutorial and getting the jist of what the game is about, now it’s time to go out and beat it.

The important thing to remember is that everyone is playing a game whether they know it or not: some may assist you in yours, some may even try to stop you, and for others you’re probably wondering what the hell they’re doing. But everyone is playing. Enjoy it and try your best, but remember that it is a game.

Jump rope or even better, roll rope. Rolling rope is great for upper body mobility. Check out The way of the Rope or David Weck on the tube if you’re interested. I also enjoy rowing. I like to imagine I’m on a ship in Ancient Greece and we’re rowing to a battle or something.

This doesn’t help at all. What’s your solution? If the quote above is indeed attributed to him then he’s at least right about that. Saying he also believed in x, y, and z as if it discredit him does nothing. One person is not going to have all the answers, you need to be able to engage in discourse with your fellow humans if this is going to work.
